Invesment Banking is apparently going through a major bloodbath from what my friends tell me and it has spread worldwide.
Apparently only the guys in Fixed Income appear to be hanging grimly onto their jobs - a friend of mine told me that Equities is a combat zone and it doesn't matter how much money you've made for your desk in the past - this year you're in trouble.
Supposedly corporate Finance has been badly hit but apparently M&A is just beyond dead - utterly, utterly......

Mitchell,

Sorry to hear your out of work. I have done loans for several senior level guys at Bellsouth and Lucent recently, they say there is blood flowing in the halls. Telecom SUCKS.

Let me know if your interested in a career change. Perhaps you would be better off selling money? Email me if interested.

Mitchel,
I know a couple folks at Cingular and BellSouth in Atlanta. Doubt they have any power, but they could at least forward your info to the right place....

I'm in the same boat. I've been layed off for 3 months! I cannot find a job for my life. Telecom has really screwed me up good this time.

Boy, I could sure use some help too!!! Before I have to sell the 355 to pay the bills.

I've been out for 6 months now with the "post aquisition integration" blues, or "synergies" as they say.

I have a technical and business development background in aerospace manufacturing. And I am known as a proven leader and problem solver, able to integrate cross-functional groups to measurably enhance business performance.

Resume attached below for your consideration.

Any name or referral would be very valuable to me as I expand my network of contacts.

I'm open all interesting opportunities and will relocate.
Thanks to all of you reading.

Hi all....
I was going through my job search notes, when I came up with the idea of trying to network with my fellow FerrariChaters. I am (until recently) an Institutional Equity Trader who worked at a top tier investment bank. I worked on their NASDAQ trading desk for six years. I was trading tech stocks for the last several years I was working there. I started my trading career 16 years ago as an Interbank Currency Trader. I spent 10 years as a proprietary trader, focusing mainly in cross currencies. As most everyone knows, there is a massive bloodletting taking place on Wall Street. There are layoffs in all departments, (banking and trading lead the way) and I was on the wrong side of the political line. Anyway, I am very interested in speaking with anyone who is involved in the equity market. Be it in the area I am from, or on the buy side: hedge fund, asset manager, mutual fund trader/manager. I am also very interested in getting involved in trading listed stocks on a Block Desk. I am not going to put my resume online, (for reasons Im sure most will understand) but am happy to send one to whoever may need one (after a telephone conversation).
I know that this is a bit uncoventional, but I think that FerrariChat is the correct demographic community to try it with. My thanks in advance, Matt
