I guess some of you haven't heard of an italian tune up. Besides the thrill pushing the engine helps it stay healthy. :-)

The local federale are few and far between, also friendly and drop in to see what cars are in the shop. They do get upset if I take the Trans-Am Camaro out, slicks, open headers, etc., but I will run it up the street if need be. Unfortunately I will have to spec out a new route for the new shop, it's only two miles from IRP so maybe I can use the access roads there.

What about....Chicken?? No.. I'm kiding you Bret.

Seems like we have turned this into a theropy session. OK I admit it. I failed in ownership. I failed to rev my engine.
Will yawl forgive me or just tell me to shut up??
SOB SOB, I'm crying now.

Thanks for letting me vent.
Signed
Kelly A born again rever.
Will one of yawl Baptize me in the glory of reving.

Hey, we call people who don't rev SINNERS. That's the ticket HAHA

Glad to hear I'm not alone. Just remember Bret, as Brian says "Part of the road test after major service- 2nd thru 5th or 6th to the redline". It's worth the wait to hear it at last

I'll confess that I've never broken 6000-6500 rpms. I know I'm a shame. After all this work I'll be taching it up though.

Kelly I too have noticed how nicely it shifts up here, a hell of a lot easier than at lower rpms.

Mitchel, I always do the same, especially when going by a Pcar.

Reminds me of a family BBQ last year and I had to take every child under the age of 16 for a drive around the block in the 308. I kept in a low gear so the car sounded FAST and MEAN. The look on the young one's faces was priceless! I never did go over the speed limit but they didn't have to know that!

Part of the road test after major service- 2nd thru 5th or 6th to the redline. And yes I do get there, most customers never get close and are amazed when I demonstrate the true abilities of their car.

Anything over 6,500 rpm is "Full Song" for a Ferrari. That is when they sound so awesome. I love to have it in 3rd one the freeway blipping the throttle at 5,000 rpm. Just waiting for the hole to open up between the cars, so I can nail and just listen to the enigine screem, like a Heavy Metal Rock Star.... Wahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!

Man I always take mine up to the redline. If I take it out for a drive and don't redline it I am disapointed.

You guys NEVER revved them up past 5k for all that time? I bet after doing it once it takes some serious self control to not do it every time you leave a red light.

I find my car shifts so easily when it is reved to over 6000. Anyone else ever notice that?

Congrats Jim, I was the same way shifted at 5000 for years. Then one day I got mad at another driver, OK ROAD RAGE. When I passed that guy up, at over 7,500 RPM, I should have been kissing him cause I've been driving it like that ever since.

Can you believe all the new sounds you hear coming out the back. Sounds like a jet engine.

AHHH FERRARI!!!!

Ed, what are you telling Jim to visit often... 8000 RPM or Norwoods? There may be a correlation here!

Jim,
Life begins at 6000 RPM and is wonderful up to 8000 RPM. There is no reason not to visit there often, now that you have new belts.

I guess it goes to show you that belts are made of stern stuff. But they can go at any time. In thirty years of driving, I've always changed belts at specified intervals. I've only experienced one belt failure in all that time, an alternator belt at only 2 years and 15,000 miles.

Jim, congrats. I'm glad you got your baby back. I saw it in there a few weeks ago. Doesn't it feel better that the 30k is done now. Just standard stuff now for many years to come.

Yesterday I picked up my car after it's 30k service. For the first time since I've owned it, I red lined it. Don't be disappointed in me, I drive it hard, but for some reason I was reluctant to push it past 6000 rpm knowing it had 15 yr old belts. No more. I picked up our 13 yr old babysitter last night and gave him the ride of his life. Red line in 3 gears, still pushing in 4th before I ran out of open road. He was smiling his ass off. So was I! Now I'm going to have to make a habit out of that kind of driving I think.
