Any price above 62-65k for this car would be too much for a 328. (My 2 cents of course)

You chose to store it that's your problem..

There was a 456 for about 85K on E-bay last week..That I would do...

For all of you that think that it does not hurt a car just sitting around:

I had my TS in the warehouse now for 2 months and started it up yesterday for the first time in those 2 months. IT RAN LIKE SH*T ! I actually have to tow it to my mechanic that is how bad the car runs! 2 months, just imagine what 13 years will do! What a bargain for a schmuck that will have to put another $5-10K into this car to just have the engine turn. Ah yes, and lose $1,000 every 10 miles in value.

I am sorry guys you are losing sight here. If you want to start a collection and have the spare$$$ to buy this and put it in your garage, fine. If you ever think of driving this car you have to be completely NUTZ to buy this and enjoy this car.

I noticed that so far it has no bids.

Sky rocking prices helps the investors, but hurts the people who want to drive them.

Why spend 85 k on a 328, when one can get a nice 348 Spider for around 60 k?

These are a few of the sales currently on ebay:

I looks like it will not be long before one can get a nice 348 Spider for around 50 k.

One can get a 355 Spider for under 100 k - that is not that much more than 85 k considering the difference in vehicles.

Todd: I truly hope they sell in the 80's. Everyone should be HAPPY if they do........that would only mean that ALL our Ferraris are going up in price, at a fantastic rate.......maybe it's the 80's again!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope they both sell in the $80's. A couple people have told me I paid too much for mine, an 86 328GTS with 17K miles 2 mos ago, but I think they are all crazy...I think it's the best bargain going and couldn't be happier!

I just noticed there's a 328 listed on the Ferrari Market Letter for $82,500! It's an '89, fly yellow and has 777 miles. No wonder people roll back their odometers!

I am cracking up as I type this! That is too funny. No ribs but one time my wife and I ordered a pizza from a place right next to the movie threater. It took them forever to make it and we were going to miss the movie so we had them put it in a box and snuck that in. It was just a 12" pie but it wasn't easy putting it under my wifes coat and still keeping it half way level. I am still laughing about your post!

Fred, the mental image I have conjured up of you coming in with a big ass plate with ribs, corn on the cob, applesauce, garlic bread, etc. (with a piece of Saran Wrap over it) makes me laugh! I'm sorry, I am mental.

I bought a nice big TV and sound system a while ago. When I feel like going out, I go out. When I feel like seeing a movie, I stay in. Besides not getting gouged, I get to miss out on all the audience participation that makes the theater experience so much more enjoyable. Not going to the theater has pretty much paid for my system! As for the 328, he's pushing it with the $65K opening bid.

Ed, I am not one to complain usually but when I go to a movie and get a coke I can't tell you how many times they give it to me and it is filled 2 inches from the top. I hand it back and tell them for $3.50 I want this thing filled to the top. Movie food is the king of rip offs. I usually bring my own in.

If you want to talk about crooks, I went to the Movie Theater yesterday and ordered two SMALL Cokes and two SMALL Popcorns. That will be $14.00 please. SAY WHAT???????? Well, you can get the LARGE tub and share it and get two MEDIUM Cokes for $12.50 and we'll give you a FREE pack of Twizzlers. WOOOOOO!!! Whoopee Doo Doo!! What the Hell are Twizzlers?? Well, It's kind of like a Gummy Bear but like a string or something. OOOOH Wow!! Now that's a DEAL. Gimme that! And these Fuckers are operating under Chapter 11 with a profit margin like that. DUH! They should give their CEO a TUB of Popcorn as a bonus.

Flipping something for a profit does not make you a crook, unless you are misrepresenting something. Buying low and selling high (or buying high and selling even higher still) is still not a crime!

An Item is worth exactly what someone is willing to give for it. No one has ever gotten a bad deal unless the product was misrepresented. There is no way to put a value on a one of a kind item. I personally would not give that much for that car but I bet it is in better shape than most of you think providing that everything posted is truthfull.

David: Why NOT do it?

"There's a sucker born every minute.......and TWO to take him"

What does he have to loose by trying? ( a few bucks for fees?).....same sort of thing the guy was doing to get people to donate money, so that he can buy a Ferrari.

These people aren't the fools.......the FOOL is the one who actually gives the money, or buys the car, in hope of finding, yet, another bigger FOOL.

I do not understand the logic: buying something for high 50s and then trying to sell it at the same place for 85. Logic would seem that it would never sell. So why do it????

The gentleman selling that car actually bought it off e-bay I think it was about a month ago. I remember seeing it advertised and this person was one of the bidders on it I don't know what he got it for but I believe he was biiding in the high 50's last time I had seen it. I was curious to see what he would sell it for I too agree he won't have much luck at this price.

Sports Car Market magazine did a profile on an '89 328 that sold at auction for $59,455. It had only 87 miles on it and had been stored since new. It was a new car, never titled and it was a GTS. I would say that pretty much proves that this car is WAY over priced.

Of coarse there are suckers born every minute, but I would be on this car receiving zero bids.

Just curious, how much would it take to get that car up and running "like new"?

L Wayne, this car won't reach $66K on eBay. It may get zero bids.

My guess is that it won't sell, at least not for $85K. What would you do with it if you bought it? A U.S. spec 89 328 GTS with 87mi on the odo went for $59,455 at the Bonhams auction in Geneva in March. I know, I know, that was Europe, but still, the eBay car won't reach $85K. Watch.

If the seals and gaskets leak, replace them. This is a brand new 328... an overpriced, brand new 328. I wish my 328 had 300 miles and the gaskets & seals needed replacement.

What a shame. The sad thing is that all the engine seals and gaskets probably need replacing...that car will leak like a seive.

Drive 'em, enjoy 'em...that's what they are built for. A garaged Ferrari is an unhappy Ferrari.
