I am a mechanical engineer and have been involved in wheel spacers and wheel bolts/stud design in past jobs I have had. I would caution you greatly that things like this should be designed and applied properly or you could have serious consequences. Even Ford has had significant problems with wheel studs breaking on trucks over the years.

I'm sure the spacers and studs could be made to adapt your 348 wheels to the 308, but you want to make sure that they will be safe with no surprises. Be sure to use somplace that knows what they are doing and has experience.

My experience says if you're talking 2-1/2" to 3" spacers, you probably will be using a disk spacer bolted to the hub(C-bored) with tapped holes for the stock 348 bolts. The disk bolts will need to be special hardened, high torque type bolts.

I have seen some pretty thick spacers machined from aluminum stock, then placed over long threaded studs. Something any machine shop could accomplish for you.

I purchased a set of wheels off of a 348ts to put on my 1980 308GTSi. The fronts are 17x7.5 and the rears are 17x9. I talked with a few people before I purchased them, and a couple of them assured me that they would bolt right on. Quite a few others didn't really know, but they had seen other 308's running these wheels. Well, I tried them on, and found out that the offset is way off. It looks like I might need a 2 1/2 or 3 inch spacer! Has anyone adapted 348ts wheels on their 308? If so, what needs to be done? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!!
