This is not Ferrari but I remember years ago when I was Service Director for a Cadillac dealer when people would bring their 75 76 convt. Eldorados in complaining about the doors not aligning. We would take it into the shop get about 4 or 5 mechanics to jump up and down on the rear floor board then put it up on a frame holding lift with the rubber pads letting the wheels hang. Then let it down and the doors were in alignment once again. Good for another 5,000 miles, maybe. |

Good point, Bob. I remember that by cutting the roof off will also cause the frame to flex more. The doors will never line up right with the striker. Not to mention how bad the roof will leak. Your better off with a stock TR. |

Bruce, all cars of this magnitude are sold AS-IS No Warranty from a dealer. I do the same. I know how good my cars are but still AS-IS. |

The problem with these conversions is that the doors constantly pop open during hard turns. Oooops, sorry, got this thread confused with the chassis flex stuff from the "Are GTB's becoming more popular" thread. :-) |

if its a strahman car...it was done right...during the big boom of the 80's a lot of chop shops did some quick and dirty conversions so you have to beware...I have seen strahman's daytona conversions, 400i conversions in person ...they are top notch...I have also seen 2 400i abortions done by cheesy shops...to me those are just parts cars...and in some cases down right dangerous... |

I was at Ferrari of Dallas and they had one of these up on the racks and they just shook their heads when I asked about it. I like the way they look, but FOD said it had tons of body flex. Not sure on who did the conversion on the one I saw but it was red and had wheels just like the one in Bad tt's picture. Long lost love of yours????? |

IF your looking for a car like it, Champion Auto in long Island has one... I wouldn't recommend it only because there is no history behind any of the cars they sell.. If you would give it a total overhaul you may be able to work a good deal and refurbish the car yourself..

I have no idea where it is? Guy who bought it had way too much money. This was the 2and TR Strahman converted. The first was a Black one Pepsi did for Michael Jackson. (Don't think he ever drove it) This was one of the cars I wish I had back.. but then if Strahman was around could duplicate for a lot less dinero!! |

That was your car....OUT OF THIS WORLD.... Why would you give up a car like that... I think they are out of the business.. If you search in the last pages of any recent Forza magazine you will see a new company that offers this conversion on a 550.. If your looking to do this, I would give them a call..... That was an awesome car!! Do you know where it is now? |
