The cheesecake factory is also a place a lot of drivers go to when in town. I saw Paul Tracy there in may and the waiter told me the Ferrari team came last year. Of course Michael wasn't with them.

Union Jacks is a traditional eating place for racers, mostly in May though.

Ok, I talked to my buddy and he said Saturday around 5-6pm would probably be the best. With a large group that might get us in before the nighttime rush too. One place he mentioned close to the track is Union Jack? I don't know if that's the name or not, but it has a bunch of car stuff there. We might also want to consider a nicer restaurant. A place taking reservations is a priority I would think.

I'll make the name tags with usernames and maybe even pics of your car? Ok, that might be going too far, but name and username would be cool.

Since I am in Indy I can look into it if people want to start giving an idea as to who is coming.

Agree with Edward Gault... The race will be here sooner than you think and reservations and such may be hard to get if everyone waits too long. Only a month and a half left.

Someone needs to step forward and make some concrete decisions as to times and places and maybe we could all have some name tags made so everyone who has never met can be identified.

We are at the Speedway Dollar Inn again this year,a nice walk to the track. Not the greatest, but who spends a lot of time in the room anyhow. Last year we did Ruth's Chris on Friday night, the night all the celebs show up. Luca was even there with Ron Dennis.

We should go ahead and look at setting a time and getting a reservation. I vote for a dinner Friday or Saturday. I'm kinda a tag along with 3 other guys, but I'll talk with them this weekend to see plans.

Fasttimes carting on the north side is the best. That is where we should go.

Karting would be fun. I don't have any racing experience per se, but I do weigh 135 pounds... that might give me a slight advantage.

For those interseted in the karting it should be noted that RACERS (downtown) has flashed. The owners are attempting to sell to another operator by USGP time, but don't hold your breath... This leaves FASTKARTING and Stephan Js. For dinner I can rec Dodd's Townhouse on Meridean (317) 257-1872

Also Echo Fred's post regarding the TRACK day Thursday the 26th. 'COME PLAY IN TRAFFIC'

Rob:

That's a good idea. I'll be coming in on Thursday evening, haven't got reservations, but I'll stay out of town, and commute to the track. The airport I fly into is about 10 miles out, and I have no trouble with reservations last year. I'll email you my cell number, a dinner either Friday or Saturday would be great.

As for you other guys with the idea that you'll be fastest with the karts. Just let me know wher eand when.

We're staying in Bloomington at the Ramada. Far away but under $100 per night. Would love to get together either Fri or Sat night for dinner in Indianapolis.

We went to the cart track last year and it was alot of fun. It was pretty busy though - maybe someone should make reservations?

I say we all get together one night at the go cart track. There is a nice indoor track. Nothing crazy fast about 45mph. It is cool they have a timer on your dash so you can see what each lap is when you pass the start finish line. They give you a helmet, neck brace and suit you have to wear. It would be a great time.

I'll be staying at the broadripple suites. That would be my house actually since I live in Indy. It would be great to get a group of Ferrari chat people together. There is a track day at Puttnam Park just outside of Indy on Sept. 26th. I will be there also.

How the hell did you get a room so close to the track and how much was it if you don't mind. I get ripped every year on the room rates and can't even find a room at any price that close. I am staying in Batesville about 60 miles out arriving Friday and leaving after the event. I have Penthouse seats directly across from the Ferrari pits.

I think there was already a thread on this. Was anything decided on getting together at Indy?

I just got confirmation I'll be making my first F1 race! I'm really looking forward to it. I'll be arriving Friday and leaving Monday. We're staying at a Holiday Inn Express about 6 miles from the track. I would love a nice dinner with users and for those that like to party a little harder, the group I'm going with is known to be a little wild. Although I'm always a perfect angel. ;)
