They look great Paul, I had my headers done inside and out by HPC... They did the extreme coating in black for the exterior of my headers. I was thinking of doing the cambelt guards in black, but not sure whether to do the valve covers in black or red. The airbox is black wrinkle now. |

These posts reminds me of a car that I was looking at when I was looking for a 308. The guy actually chromed everthing on the engine including the valve covers etc. At least it looked like chrome. Needless to say it didn't stay, it was peeling and what a mess. Didn't take me long to say no to that one. |

They definitely can do the wrinkle. I had my valve covers powder coated with wrinkle black. |

Powder coating works by possitivly charging the part (just like current electrostatic paint process) and a gun shoots powder onto the object where the charge hold the powder to the part. Then the part is baked and the powder melts / flows evenly and hardens. It is very strong, and durable. The only problem is that I do not think they can do wrinkle finnish yet...but never know...also on areas that you need a gasket, you may not get a pure even surface. I like Powder. It is also very env friendly. No VOC's and completely reusalble. Harley uses Powder for their clear coat. |

Paul, They are beautiful. That powder coating can't be beat. I know a guy who says he can do my wheels. I haven't checked that far into it yet, right color etc. but it sure would be great. |

Check out the photo's of my valve and timing covers + Headers. Valve and timing were first done with ceramic/ aluminum coating and then red powered coated (mower red). Headers were just ceramic/ aluminum coated -inside and out. These photo's are straight out of the box. 5 day turn around and all only $350 http://www.airborncoatings.com They do all power coating for Merc-cruiser and Peterbuilt trucks.
