DONT buy from Miller motorcars. They are waaaaaaayyyy over priced and from what i heard their service dept. is way under par. Check out WWoC, their prices are more fair. Im almost positive you can always get a better price with a private seller, just have the car inspected by a mechanic (not at a dealer though).

sorry doody -- I think that statement is too much convenient "salesman-speak" (and if you were trying to sell your car to a dealer for cash they'd take the exact opposite position). I do think it will be very interesting to see someday how things work out for 20 year old 355s with 50K+ miles.

steve - if the car was going to have those problems the conventional wisdom is that they probably would have manifested by now (fwiw).

doody.

david, were those 2 sales private or from an authorized dealer? You think $85K is max for an authorized dealer sale?

I know of two cars in the NW that sold in the low 80's with similar history. Start low.. :-)

Mid eighties is probably tip top, right now.

Ricky -- How about exh. header replacement and/or valve guide replacement history? I know not every early 355 has problems in these areas, but I think enough cars have reported those as trouble areas that some price deduction (representing the probability of the problem occuring times the repair price) is appropriate if not previously fettled.

Rick:

I would say between $83-$86. I just sold my 97 TB for $95K and the car was just perfect, impecable.
