Mike, I was at the auction Saturday. It sold for $5.9 million + 10% buyer's premium for a total sale price of $6.49 million. Phil Hill himself drove the car up onto the auction block. I'm not sure who the winning bidder was, but he was young (40's) and very casual looking. The other gentleman bidding on the car was someone named "Bernie" but I couldn't get a look at him.

Unfortunately Mike I missed most of the segment so I only caught the bit about the TR definition.

Yeah, I was one of those emailers!

That 330 that Phil Hill won LeMans in that they were showing in the clip was expected to sell for how much? Five to seven million dollars?

I caught the end of a segment on CNBC this morning where they were talking about collector cars, one commentator said to the other do you know what testarossa stands for? The other commentator said of course it means redface!,and he was serious! Of course I was on my couch yelling redhead at the T.V. and I guess they got about 40 e-mails correcting them as they stated later in the show when the lead commentator came on and told the real answer.
