jimpo,

I just got back from Ochos Rios, there was a nice shop (Colours)with the entire GP Ferrari Line! They offered me the same watch that Greg purchased except with the metal band for $2700.00 -- Believe it or not, they are an actual GP dealer w/ warranty (duty free) (go to GP webpage). I was actually going to buy the watch but backed out because of where I was -- I got home and found out that they are one of the largest GP dealers around! I got home cleared my head of all those "Umbrella" drinks and have not gotten the courage to call to place the order! Hope this helps!

Jimpo, where did you get your Tag at 45% off retail. I'm looking for one for my wife for a Christmas present?

Fred Repass is a very nice man, but you will not get a deal from Fred.

I bought several watches from the Ferrari club member that lives in KC MO that Daren Adkins mentioned.

He is wholesaler, not retail, but he will sell an individual a watch for about what a dealer would pay.

I have a GP and 2 Rolexes that I got from him, nobody came close on price and condition.

Daren or I can get you his name or number, let us know.

Nika, since the watch is so bulky on your wrist, do you want to sell it to me?

Greg - beautiful watch - I also have one with yellow stitching! I also bought the steel one but it's quite bulky for my wrist - I wish they would make a nice female version of the watch

Greg, send me an email, I've found a couple of sources for that watch. A friend of mine has decided he wants one too, maybe we can get a quantity discount!

Contact Fred Repass @ 404.261.5645. I bought a Cartier Ferarri watch from him years ago. He has many different types of Ferrari watches made over the years.

Greg; The case is Titanium, the steel cases look the same as they are abrasive blasted stainless steel but much more heavy. The dial is carbon fiber, and the strap is Kelvar with a leather backing. GP has made several versions in Titanium. they also make versions in aluminum, but I would be leary of them as it is much softer. Do a search for Girard Perregaux Titanium to find out more. http://www.pacifictime.com/girard-perregaux-ferrari-watches.htm

David-Do you know anymore about the watch? Is the metal titanium or steel? Is the face a combination of kevlar and carbon fiber? I really don't know much about it but love it!

I bought one on EBay from the guy in KC MO. Seemed like a nice guy on the phone. Its the same as Greg's, Titanium/Carbon fiber/Kelvar. Made for Asprey in an edition of 250. It was about $2400. I'm very happy with it.

Now you may want to be careful about not paying ful price.. Most Manufactures will do simply maintance on a watch purchased from an authorized dealer..If you buy from a secondary vendor it will not help in certain situations..
For me, I pay cheap and keep my fingers crossed.. Some people like the idea of having some sort of assurance..
That is up to you..
I too am a big fan of the GP watches.. In one of my watch mags, it states that GP is one of the top ten watch makes in the world....great watch

There is a guy in K.C., MO that deals in high end watches and is a Ferrari nut, and a nice guy, too. Email me and I will give you his number.

Jack has a point. I don't want a "cheap" watch, but I also don't want to get raped at full retail. I got 45% off retail on my Tag, would like to get a similar deal on a GP.

Jim - try scanning www.watchnet.com. Watchnet is to timepieces as FerrariChat is to Ferraris. I am sure you can find a lead, or someone with the watch you desire.

You have good taste. Girard Perregaux Ferrari watch is a nice piece.

Good luck in your search.

Jim, you may have to choose between "good" and "cheap" on this one. I've bought some watches from a guy who's pretty fair. I'll dig around for his info and try to get it for you.

I've convinced myself I need yet another watch and am considering a Girard Perregaux Ferrari watch. Does anyone have a good CHEAP source? Am also considering an Omega Speedmaster Schumacher.
