A certain number of non FCA members with non
Ferraris have been allowed to join us at this event. It makes it easier for Ferraris to run at other marques events. At this time, we are full, and only Fcars will be given late entrance.

Solly, sorry if I wasnt clear in my prior response. Passengers are required to wear the same clothing as the driver in his/her respective run group. In the white run group, long sleeves, pants, helmet. In the blue run group, full nomex, gloves, helmet. In the red run group, full nomex, gloves, helmet.
Tim, shouldnt be any more than a 4 1/2 hour trip.
THIS EVENT IS GONNA ROCK!!

Kenny- have your dad call my cell # 914 450-5164, I am on vacation this week.

Matt- like William, I will have a problem finding a 2 layer Nomex suit with a double "D" cup. The Hooters girls ride around in bikinis. This is discrimination.

Looking forward to seeing you there.

Hey Solly, Pocono was not our event, but if I remember correctly there were 3 run groups. We are going to have 3 run groups as well. Green/White, Blue, and Red. I am going to mix the instructors in with the Blue and Red groups so as to minimize the number of groups. This will allow us to have (if all goes well) 5 28 minute run sessions/group/day. One will not find that type of track time at other club events. As far as passengers, we will allow them. They are required to wear the same clothing as the driver. I want to make sure that everyone is properly warmed up before taking out passengers, so I think passenger rides may start after lunch. No hard and fast rule, I will play it by ear. I do hear you though, if you are not in the car, it can be boring (unless you are sick like us).

Thanks Steve. Anyway he can talk to you on the phone first? I will have him call you on your office line tomarrow if possible (just a few brief fatherly questions- what kind of plane and such).

Remember when we went out to lunch to talk about that rally? It's all coming together: http://www.extremeapex.com It's amazing! I will talk to you more about it on the track.

Kenny- yes, I will drop you off Sunday eve at White Plains airport. I need your dad's WRITTEN permission. You can fax it to my office at 914 997-7019. If possible, also have him include a line allowing me (or anyone else) to have you as a passenger at the track.

Matt- Are driving groups same as at Pocono? Are passengers allowed this time, as at Pocono? If so, do they need suits/shoes/helmets or just helmets? My girlfriend would love to come, but she doesn't want to sit around watching for 3 days.

Adam- did you decide how you are getting to the Glen? I still have 1 open seat on the plane.

Briefly, the FCA is the largest, as well as the only Ferrari Club in the U.S. which has Ferraris' recognition and support. We have several different geographical regions, each with their own schedule of events.
You will get a lot of information when you join.
You can find the national website at:

Ok guys, its getting closer.....it is very interesting that we are having our biggest turnouts in our history this season. I wonder why that is. In order to maximize run time, I am breaking the participants into three run groups (which is usual), but I am going to split up the instructors and have them run in the top two groups. This allows me to schedule 5 28 minute run sessions per group. 2 1/3 hours per day....awesome for a club event. So, make sure your pads are good, brakes are bled, car gone over (nuts and bolts), and you are well rested!
And bring the good weather with you!

Awesome, I ran with a 962 at Summit a few years ago. Actually let me rephrase that.....I had the paint peeled off my car by him. It was a long tail version from Japan.

The Camel Lights car with the 308 engine was the fastest car at the May/June FOC event. It was also raced in the Daytona 2 hour historic enduro this past February.

You keep signing up this kind of machinery and I am going to ask you to kindly move me down a group.

What's next Schumacher's F2002 with Luca Bador driving?

Look forward to seeing all the usuall gang and a few new faces.

Tim, don't party too much before the event. Ferraris are not equiped with the drop-down barf bags (adds weight).

Regards,

Jon

Kenny,

Make sure you ride with me first! After a ride in Karson's car you'll be quite bored riding with me as Matt is much faster. Also by riding with me first you can survey the scenery and see different parts of the track. With Matt, it will all be a blur and at the end of the ride you'll be putting your eye balls back into their sockets.

Regards,

Jon

Paul, I always stay at the Falls Lodge 607-535-7262. If they are full, try Seneca Lodge 607-535-2014. If you go to Seneca Lodge, try to stay in rooms numbered 40 and higher.
Kenny, you got it pal.

Kenny,

Make sure you email Matt K. or Bob Coates so they let you in at the front gate. Bob left me a voicemail message stating something about a list at the front gate for folks to get in. He said anyone (don't have to be an FCA member) is welcome but Watkins Glen wants a full list of all who plan to attend.

Stop by and say hello! There are at least four #23 cars so look for the Barachetta red car with double yellow stripe. See you there!

The nicest place to stay in that general area, but a good 45 minutes away from Watkins Glen is a hotel/spa Le Mirabeau in Skaneateles. It has a fancy restaurant which is OK, but the rooms are first rate, great spa facilities after a hard day at the track, and the Italian restaurant next door is suprisingly good. This town, with an unpronounceable name, is also the nicest spot up there, so if you want some creature comforts, that's my recommendation.

We have reservations at a non-chain lodge about 12-miles from the track. Do yu have any recommendation about the best place to stay?

Get ready everybody......it is going to be a rocking event!!!! We will have our largest turnout ever. Labor Day Weekend, August 30th, 31st and September 1st (friday, saturday, and sunday) We should have 80+ Ferraris!
As many as 6 - 333SP, same amount of F40s',
maybe a F40LM, as well as a F40GTE. Around 6 360 challenge cars, 8 or so 355 challenge cars, dozens of 355 and 360s'. Not to mention a couple of 550 Barchettas' and a bunch of 360 Spyders. IT IS GOING TO BE AN ABSOLUTE BLAST!!!!
If you have not signed up yet, get your application in now.....
