My guess is it comes from the owners watching racing...a high strung engine won't idle very well to warm, so blipping the throttle keeps it going. I have to with my engine, the thing won't idle at all unless it's way warm. So, it gets blipped. |

Actually asked myself why most of the Fcar (and other race car) owners tend to "play with the throttle" (=Giving the accelerator small kicks) in the pits after starting their engines at a track event. Just saw that with a vintage Testarossa. Is there any use because I would not give the engine such a treatment after just started up. O.K. it sounds cool but wouldn�t it be wiser to just let the engine idle for a while and then increasing the revs smoothly and constantly when it has reached a certain temperature level?
