The manual states not to leave the top down for extended periods of time for good reasons. The creases as Mark mentioned, but the technicians at FoW are convinced that air develops among the various servos that are responsible for making the top go up and down. If air becomes present at the wrong places, the top will not move efficiently, requiring a 4 hour labor intensive bleed service, which no technician I have spoken to looks forward to doing. Is it the typical F-dealer service hype? I don't know, but I sure didn't want to find out. I left my top up when not enjoying it. FYI: Make sure to use your tonneau cover when the top is down to reduce further damage to the top mechanism as well. |

purchased a 355 spider recently. are there any problems associated with leaving the top down for extended periods of time i.e. plastic backlite/ canvas top etc. ? |
