When I was looking for insurance, I called all the "popular" collectors insurance places like Hagerty, Grundy, etc. What I was told is that you can only drive the vehicle for a limited milage and only for things where you wouldn't 'normally' use your regular car. When I tried to find out what this actually meant it was difficult. I asked if I could use the car to go to the store and buy a loaf of bread and I was told "No" because I should be using my regular car for specific trips. If I wanted to just "go out and drive", or drive to a car show or something like that, it would be insured. I realize this would be hard to prove if I did have an incident, but I chose to go with a regular insurer -- Progressive. Now, I can go anywhere for any reason for anything and not be concerned about if I'm covered. Or maybe I'm just too worried about nothing.... |

I am using Chubb Group recommmended by Ferrari NA. They have many options, including glass breakage coverage and will insure the vehicle for a specific amount of your choosing. Also unlimited mileage and high liability limits standard. Unfortunately (or fortunately) I don't have any direct claims experience with them so I don't know whether they are a claims hassle. |

Kelly, give Hagerty Ins. co. a call. I use them for all my collectibles. They will send you info. on what you require. I even have a 2 mill. umbrella policy with them on my cars which I carry on my reg. policy as well. Good rates, no hassles on claims, they insure and pay on the total value of the vehicle, which you agree with them, not just on market value. My Ins.agent is also a collector, he has his cars with them. His words, "Best value for classic auto ins. on the market. Ph. 1-800-922-4050 MAGOO |

Hmm, I have 100% coverage with Geico and it's about $1,100 a year. I don't know exact limits, but includes uninsured, towing, and unlimited mileage. |

I got Grundy(Chub Group)unlimited mileage, $300,000 policy. What I do not like it the information they provide you which is close to ZERO. All I know is that the car is insured when it is in the garage, at a auto show or for pleasure driving. If it is left unatteneded any place else, not insured. Right now cost for $35,000 value is $520.00 a year. Leland has a poicy for $750.00 that let me go out say to dinner and leave the car unattended, but limits the mileage to 5,000 a year. Any suggestions. I feel I can't even take my wife out to dinner without valet parking with grundy, but I also don't like the mileage limit on Leland. Also how much should I increase the value of the car every year? All Advice welcomed. |
