Isn't this like using a $1000.00 switch to protect a $1.00 fuse?

Careful guys.......the last Keith Collins mat discussion was very painful!

I too bought the exact same mat from Collins and I gotta say that I love them! When I told my wife I paid 600 bucks for floor mats she looked at me like I was crazy - but damn - they are worth it. You will not find a nicer mat, anywhere. And, he made them in exactly the color pattern I wanted to match my car. If you can - go for it!

Todd:

The difference is well worth it. the quality of their mats is unreal. At first i thought why the difference but after i saw them it made sense.
I still agree too much money!

Damn Eli...they are steep! The regular mats with just the horse are $450.00 plus 35.00 s/h. I described your mat and they said the are 650.00 plus 35.00 s/h.

I would go with mine...best bang for the buck!

Peace.

I bought black w/red horse from www.evansauto.com and s/w George at 614.471.7535
They were $175 a pair. I am very happy with them...low maintenance b/c little stuff like grass, pebbles, dirt, etc. does NOT get hung up in the carpet...it stays on top so you can just pull them out and brush off...they are a tight pile not the thick heavier one.

Eli, is there a website or ph # for the place you got yours? They do look good

Cheers,

TTG

Jim, thanks, I'd love to see pictures of the black mats on tan carpet when you can. I DO have a source for the mats and they're still being advertised on eBay as well (old stock, I guess).

I just put in 355 Challenge pedals in my 308/QV, which is one of the reasons I thought about changing the mats (while I was down on the floor). If you'd like to see what the pedals look like, I just posted a couple of pictures at

Barry, my pleasure! There are now quite a few of those out there that have been made from my design. I'm glad to help.

For those of you who see this message and aren't sure what he's talking about (the "Charness Harness"), the URL for the plans is at

Mike,

Black will look good.

I would like to thank you for your detailed plans for the Charness Harness. A friend of mine who owns a metal fabricating plant is making it for me. He was impressed by your plans. I'll be bringing the extinguisher over to him with the GTB as he wants to precisely locate the holes for the bracket so as to center the extinguisher.

LOL at Bruce!

Mike I've got black floormats in my tan interior and I think it looks great. I have my original tan mats and don't really like them. I'll try to post pictures, but my home computer is down at the moment due to some remodeling projects. It's hard to buy mats with logos anymore, the primary manufacturer quit making them after some legal hassles.

By the way, be prepared for some comments in this thread about car wax.

I've got a red/tan 308/QV, brown carpeting, and it came with brown floor mats. I'm thinking of getting some new floor mats, as these are getting worn. Has anyone with that color interior tried BLACK floor mats (with or without logo)? Since the dash and door panel accents are black, I'm wondering it if would look GOOD as a contrast, or more like you couldn't find the right ones and had to settle for black.

If you've seen the combo and/or have an opinion, I'd like to hear from you. If you've got that combo and have pictures, please email me one or two or upload them here.

Thanks

Mike C.
