Thanks for all your input. I guess I have nothing to worry about. I've had no start up problems at all. Had a slight coolant leak out of a hose but the dealer very quickly took care of that. Love the car. Awesome acceleration. Stunning handling, especially for a relatively heavy car. So much more fun to drive than my Carrera S was.

Does the car run rough when you start it?
If it does....give a little gas for a minute until it clears...
If it starts smooth and continues to run smooth just enjoy the experience....its a great car.

Once the Cats light up and the oxygen sensor gets up to temperature, the system goes closed loop and the mixture is adjusted continuously to stochiometric. Plus modern ignition systems can fire even badly fouled plugs.

So A) it won't get fouled; B) it won't matter even if it does. Caio

Won't happen, Norm, with today's ECU-operated/fuel injected cars. I warm mine up at idle until the oil temp moves past the lowest mark. Then, I drive off gently until it's fully warm. No fouling, even in winter when it takes much longer!

That someone may be fondly recalling the hot rod years of lore. If your car's running rich, could fuel foul the plugs. If it's in the proper state of tune (highly likely), no problem.

Just purchased a 550 Maranello. Someone told me not to warm up/idle the car too long because this could foul the spark plugs. Does this make sense? And if it does, why does this happen?
