Bill drove us down rt 9 at about 85 the hooked around on to 495 and kicked it up to bout 90 or so. It was hard to tell with the smile on my face and the wind in my eyes! We blew by cars like they were standing still yet it seemed so controlled. The TR was much smoother and quieter than I expected. Nothing like the growl of a V12 though. I followed Bill home for a ways and I forget how low and WIDE the TR is. Looks like a spaceship. So to the thread of "does a TR look dated?" I say HELL NO! Thanks again to Bill for the ride and thanks to everyone else for the company.

PHOTOS OF FERRARIS AROUND BOSTON GET TOGETHER
(yes, each pix has an embedded word or 2 of wisdom.)

As luck would have it, I didn't see Jim trying to wave me down when I make a pass thru the parking lot to see if anyone had arrived 1st. I parked 1st:

It's awfuwy lonely around heah...

Jim came over & introduced himself. Then Theo arrived shortly afterward:

Theo bounds from his repatriated Ameri-Euro 328 (Ask him) to greet Jim & me(left edge of pix.)

Don't they make a nice couple:

My Euro 308 GTS QV, & Theo's 328 GTS

Looks like we're all that's coming, let's go eat:

L to R: Mr. Doody, Verell, Jim, & Theo (Timed shutter frm back of convenient pickup bed.)

However, Bob drove up & came in to find us eating appetizers.

Shortly thereafter the manager dropped by to make sure we were having a great time. Theo asked if it was OK for our cars to be in unmarked slots. The manager looked serious & said "You better give me the keys, I'll personally move them to be safe...". We said 'RIIIIIGHT' and everyone had a good laugh.

After dinner was cleaned away, The cute watress who was also a photographer & snapped us:

L to R: Bob, Mr. Doody, Theo, Jim, & yours truly. (You'd think I'd have enuf sense to take my hp badge off tho.)

After a great meal & a lot of car talk, we sadly started heading out. Everyone stopped & tried to admire Bob's TR in the deepening dark, but we could hardly see each other:

Bob's Testarossa visable here only via the magic of digital image processing..

We had a turnout of five folks and three f-cars.

Theo brought his 87 328 GTS (a NA car with many Euro touches).

Bws88tr brought his 88 Testarossa.

Verell brought his Euro 82 308 GTS QV

Jim_schad had a lovely rental car.

I had my p-car unfortunately since I had to be in Cambridge in the morning. I try to keep the f-car out of the Big Dig!

The food was great and the company was stellar. It was great to meet you guys!

Verell took some digital pics - hopefully he can post some. Bws88tr arrived late, so I don't recall if Verell got pics of the Testarossa.

Hope you had a fun ride, Jim_schad!

Well, I haven't heard back from my two friends Dan & George, so I think we are 6 people.

First one there should put a name in. How about 'Enzo' or 'Ferrari'? This way we can all find each other instead of looking around for everyone.

Just bumping this to make sure we're still on for Thursday evening.

Thursday September 19th
18:00 ET (that's 6 o'clock in the PM)

@ Naked Fish in Westboro MA on Route 9

http://www.nakedfish.com/westboro.html

My understanding is that there are six of us. If it's going to be a lot more than that we should probably think about a reservation.

Hi, I'll try to make it too.
Euro '82 308 GTS QV from Groton, MA. There's a chiropracter who lives in Dunstable, has a '91 Testarossa. I'll mention the get together to him.

Hadn't realized there were so many F*s in the middle of MA!.

I'm coming from Westford, which is right on 495 near lowell. 495 S to Route 9 w, all highway speeding (I mean cruising, ha, ha!). I know this route well, as I was a consultant working for EMC in Westboro some time ago.

I know of two other Fcar owners (one a 84 308 GTSI QV and a 86 328 GTS) that I will try to persuade into coming.

Any other MA Fcar owners out there? Please come and join us. The more fcars, the better.

I have been lurking here for a while but as another Babson grad (1989) still in the area, I feel in good company. There is a new Naked Fish in Natick at Rt 30 and Speen St. It may be closer than Westboro, but now that I think of it, why would we want one closer?

Adam - I think I saw your car! I remember seeing a TR a few times while I was at Babson (and saying to myself "Who owns that!"). Graduated in 1988.

Jim - Put me down (tentatively) for the 19th. I'll bring my 87 328 GTS. How about we meet for dinner at the Naked Fish in Westboro? It's on route 9 W, a few miles past 495.

I went to University of Chicago and I don't think I ever saw a F- while serving my 4 year sentence. Even downtown. I think the roads suck too much and the weather is even worse.

I should have gone to Stanford in good ol' CA.

For the next 4 months I'll be living in Brookline, but the 308 is stuck in the garage at home in Houston. I've got an apartment up here and on past visits have seen

TR at the B&D deli on Beacon
550 Barchetta on Tappan (down the street from my place) a few weeks after they came out
360 and 348 last month near Newbury
TR in the North End
330 at the Lotus/Aston Martin dealer

Hope to see more in the next couple of months so I can live vicariously through their owners. I'll miss driving my 308.

I can dig what Rob is saying :-) I was also dreaming of Ferraris while I was at BU 82-86. I met this very cool older gent, not sure if he is still around as he was around 80 back then. He was sort of a legend in Boston. He had a Boxer & a Countach, he told me his first sportscar was a Duesenberg SJ :-) Now thats COOL!!!!

Jason , go check out the Brookline car museum, a lot of car people hang around there

When attending Babson College from 1992 to 1996 we had a few students with Ferraris and alumni would show up now and then in Ferraris. Over the years students had a 308, several 348's, and a TR. Back then living on Ramen noodles and making $5.50 an hour at the computer help desk those Ferraris seemed so unobtainable. Now I have a beautiful 328 and trying to talk my wife into restoring an older V12. Kinda puts a tear in your eye, dreams do come true. I guess right now a 275 GTB/4 seems obtainable...
