Warren, many of the 308's also had / have this problem, especially around the side window vents mounted on the dash. Lots and lots of hide food!

Hide food is the best preventive for shrinkage, Connolly IMHO, all Jaguar dealers carry it.

Costs about $200 to have the instrument pod cover redone on a 355. I've had good luck with everything else, but this has been a common problem.

i won't take your hyundai bait :-)

the biggest trick on the dash, apparently, is to make sure you don't leave the dash getting beat up by the sun. in my 355 searches, i only found serious dash-shrinkage in FL cars that were clearly not well cared-for.

i too would be interested in hearing of any preventative care measures others have used.

doody.

I know a lot of 355 owners complain about dash shrinkage and seat cracking. I don't know why with the price people pay for their Ferraris, the company can't figure out a way to prevent this from happening. I've never heard of this happening on a Hyundai. Well, what do you guys use to prevent this from happening? I know the car should avoid prolong exposure to the sun, but what should I use to condition the seats and dash? I heard connolly hide food is pretty good.

BTW, thanks for the sales tax advice.
