Oh, there won't be any additional load on the site than where it's at now. I have left the thread list count the same for several months now and the new title sponsor banner is the only thing added. No more, I promise.

Rob, I assume the 50% number you are only talking about F- chat users. I think only 11% of the country uses broadband and the majority of that is business. Broadband is over promised in terms of service reach and the majority of companies that are suppose to build the stuff are in the financial basement. I recommend not over-doing the graphics as we are here for the conversation (ie. text) more than the moving graphics.

My res is set at 1024 X 768 too. The banner is fine and looks great. I'm all for it.

I use to develop the site on 56k and did all my testing there, but right now we're kinda in a transition to broadband. From the number of threads that will be listed before archived to the additional graphics, the site is probably getting slower for the 56k users. I bet over 50% of the users are on broadband now and 90% will be within a year. BTW, I've seen good broadband plans for less than $30 a month.

Makes the screen take longer to load for us with 56K modem connections, but to keep it free, oh well.

What's your screen resolution Bob? Mine is at 1024 by 768 and looks good.

I realize some people are on older software, screens, and maybe need smaller resolution to see, but the banner only appears on the main topics pages and it's just as easy to scroll down. In other words, I don't think anything is lost over before, except maybe you might only see the top 10 threads now instead of the top 15-20 before.

Just keeping the site free for the users, because last thing all of you need is another subscription fee over your $100+ FCA/FOC and other magazine subscriptions.

Also, FerrariChat.com will never have pop up ads!

Rob, you wouldn't happen to be testing Exotic Car World's new ad banner on the General Discussion page, would you? That thing takes up some serious real estate!
