My goodness, the way we pick on each other and whatnot, you'd think we were all a bunch of brothers (and sister). Hmmmm. I suppose we are. A bunch of brothers in a big Ferrari family. I suppose that might scare Rossadog away, hopefully he could realize we're all in this together, trying to keep these beautiful machines in our garages, and in working order. Yeah, way corny, I know. But look at the posts! Coming from a big family, sounds like home. |

Well my 1979 308 GTS arrived yesterday. As expected it was much better than anticipated. My wife had been a little cool to the idea - until I let her drive it. Now she too is an enthusiast. Her comment to my 12 year old son (who of course demanded a ride to school this morning) - "Michael this is the coolest thing" Ferraris and wives do mix - if you make sure she's the first to ride in it and the second to drive it! |

Magoo,I said a while ago; it's been about eight years I gave up my Healey for a loser. Yes,this is diverging from "rossadogs" dilema again, but my GTB has only been in my life a few months; the first 'Italian' I have owned. My Ferrari and I have a lot in common, treated right we both give a lot of pleasure! Neglect us and........!!! Found FerrariChat a couple of weeks ago.Different from what I expected! LOL. Now, "rossadog" where are you and are you going to do the "right" thing??? Don't let us down! |

Dina, How can you say giving up the Healey for the Ferrari was a big mistake. Look at all the fun you're having. Now as for the boyfriend, that's another story. We are happy you did get the Ferrari, because you bring excitement to the chat line. |

Sure Chris, in your dreams. The only person we have not heard from on this topic is "rossadog". Have we scared him off? Has he seen the light and decided to keep the TR? Has he taken William H's advice and sold the wife? The options are endless, just make sure the TR stays in the garage!A while ago, gave up a beloved Healey 100/6 to appease the insecurities of a boyfriend. Big mistake! Understand William H's motivation for his opinions. Just don't forget it goes both ways. Enjoy the rest of the holiday - Dina |

I drove my '77 308 GTB today. The heaters work just great; like I needed a heater today (just looking at the car makes me hot). I had a fantastic time. Hope you "boys" had a great weekend too. Love to you all from your "hot" Ferrari girl, yes, even you Bret! Dina. |

Bret, I really do think that you are a decent guy. We never will agree because there is too much of a age difference, but if you were my son I would be very upset with your comments. Fact is your not my son and you are right, I will keep my comments to myself. Just thought I could get your attention. I think I did. And oh, the wives thing, It took me 4 times to get it right. Hey, at least I got it right, some people never do. Lets go on with FERRARI talk from this point on. Good luck and Best Regards MAGOO |

Hey Bret, you sound like a puppy dog hollering like somebody just stepped on your tail. My point exactly, One of these days you may grow up. P.S. Remember I didn't say you were a smart ass I just said you reminded me of others I knew, but you called it. And as for the wives, as you grow older you will find that women are much like Ferraris. Every once in a while you will find it may be necessary to get a new one. As I said previously, your comments don't show much maturity for a 18yr old. But you probably are a nice guy. Now go back and read some of your comments. Do you really want this image? I also said I think my comments went too far, because you are responsible for the image you project. Regards, MAGOO |

Magoo, I may be a spoiled smart ass in your opinion, which I couldn't really care less about. But at 18 I've acquired enough income to buy a '85 308GTSqv in cash. If you would pay attention you would know that I bought it on my own. Nothing was given to me, but you know what, I don't have to explain myself to you, because who are you. I don't know where you guys come off going on about people here, but we're supposed to stick together. I would say it's much more juvenile to go against your own than it is to make some comments. I didn't start with you so I would appreciate if you kept your opinions to yourself. I never went on about your inability to keep a wife so don't going talking about me. |

I like my women 21-29, that way they have some experience but dont have too many miles Michael, if u give your sons Ferraris at 18, make sure they get to racing school first, or a few days at the track with me will help them knock off bad dangerous habits |

Young kids with Ferraris -- at least they will know about real property ownership and know not to vote for politicians that tax them up the *@&^&!! Plus Ferraris can be a great training tool to teach how to take care of quality items and how to be responsible. I will give my sons at age 18 each a Ferrari instead of 100,000 dollars, at least I am teaching them how to spend money well. Maximum bang for the buck -- just like any successful business venture. I want a good American capiltalist not a jealous whining wimp. And if they are smart -- I"ll give them both a car and the money. And if they are really good they will supply the hot babes on their own. Hey William, can I send them to William Babe Training School at age 13? I know the spots are filling fast and I just want to lock in reservations (2 places please). OK, 'nuff said -- let us all get back to talking just about the mechanics and artistry of Enzo's machines. |

I have a friend in high school in White Plains NY, says 3 kids have Ferraris at his school. I think a 308, 328 & maybe a 355. Nice As for my comments about Women, well, since I have dated some women who have been particularly nasty & devious Ive come to learn that they cannot be trusted. So I dont allow them to get close & since I know most of them r around for the $, well its hard to respect people who r like that |

I misunderstood you, you didn't specify what comment you were referring to. You certainly havethe right to your opinion about Bret's "cool" comments, but some of them are very childish. Anyway, when he grows up I'm sure he will be a wonderful guy and a responsible citizen who owns a Ferrari just like the rest of us. Enough said. I think we all should get off the "personality" kick and get back to Ferrari Chat. |

Listen Guys, I guess my comments went a little to far, not that they were wrong, but Bret reminds all of us when we were in school about the guy who was the spoiled smart ass of the class. A person who always had to be noticed The guy who had everything given to him, and was always looking for some kind of "fun" in class and it was "cool" not to study. Peter, you're not that far away from the age of 18, how come you don't make Bret's kind of comments, maybe you weren't spoiled, maybe you were taught to respect others. Look, as I said Bret is probably a nice guy, but his comments, and actions are juvenile. I promise not to say any more because this is a Ferrari chat line and I should not let my feelings enter here. But Christian, the comment about a "Bimbo", I am not sure of your age but that comment doesn't sound like a "cool" gentleman. |

I wish I was (or were) 18 again. Sigh. It's now more than half a lifetime ago. I had to drive a 1970 AMC Hornet with 3-on-the-column in high school. It was functional transportation (better than the school bus), but not "cool." Bret is fortunate: he's 18 and has a Ferrari. |

Bret, Nice try. At 18 I really don't think you have learned to appreciate women yet. Just look at what you wrote earlier about"ripping" out of there and trying to put the make on your teacher. Now I know this is supposed to sound "Cool" but it really sounds quite juvenille. I'm sure you're a nice guy, just put your brain in gear before releasing your mouth. Sincerely MAGOO |

Magoo is right on the ball ! Forget worrying about the tyre kickers...and keep the Ferrari. "Ferrari or the wife",rubbish ! There is something wrong with the "wife" if she does not fathom that the Ferrari gives you pride, pleasure and satisfaction. If I were in her shoes, I would never deprive my partner for selfish or jealous reasons. To be happy in a relationship yourself, you have to understand what gives your partner enjoyment. A smart woman knows this. The balls in your court... |

Hey rossadog, did you work it out yet. Any guy who owns a Ferrari doesn't give up easily when he is being forced to get rid of his car We have confidence in you. Turn on the old charm, buy her a new car, house, or whatever to solve the problem. Last resort, pack up a "small" amount of your belongings get in the Ferrari and take off. Just don't sell it. Remember the old girlfriend in highschool or college that got away. You just can't forget, such as it is with the Ferrari. MAGOO |

You have to use your discretion when sorting out the tyre kickers. I looked at probably 12 cars before I found my one owner QV. But out of the 12 I only drove 3. Of the rest, about 4 I saw were not worth driving, the other 5 owners did not allow me to even get in their cars as they did not feel I looked serious enough. Maybe I was too honest and said I have never owned or driven one before. Maybe I didn't look "money" enough ! It's a hard call ! |

Christiank, there are guys out there who would give their right uh, leg, to have a Ferrari. They think if they find a distress situation they will play it for all its worth. Hold the line and you will find a buyer who will give a fair price for the car. How many guys can say they own a Ferrari. It is unique and they wish, even though a lot of them won't admit it, that they had one. They're the guys who pull up next to you at a light, won't look at you,but you've been watching him in your rear view mirror and he has been checking your car out for the last 5 miles. MAGOO |

Magoo: I agree. I am trying to sell my TR too but I am not willing to give it away. If I won't get what I am asking (or close to that) then I won't sell it. There is also no reason doing that because a good TR is always worth the money and there are a lot of people around who try to steal it for a bargain price. I had a guy who is on Ferrari chat too (never saw him posting anything though)and he started like "old buddy from Ferrari chat" and in the end he called me Sir and Mr. because I was not willing to give him a present(and the guy hasn't even seen the car). |

I don't think you should sell. Isn't there some other way to solve this by letting things cool down. Maybe advertise the car and report to her that no one wants to give you the money you want for the car. Time will pass and maybe attidudes will change. What ever you do don't sell it to a dealership unless you want to give it away. THIS TAPE WILL SELF DESTRUCT IN 30 SECONDS. MAGOO |

San Diego was a hot market for Ferraris a few months ago (when I sold my Mondial). I still have the names of a few serious buyers who wanted a TR. I'll grab those tomorrow and email them to you. Send me some pics and price and I'll pass it on. |

FCA Newsletter, reasons why: 1) Ads are free when you're a member 2) The vast majority of members are owners of Ferraris and know how to drive them. Or, use this the "For Sale" forum on this site. And please reconsider the situation, just look at all of the guys here that are trying to find their first Ferrari and having a hard time and you're giving yours up? It'll be VERY hard to replace in the future if the opportunity should so happen again. |

Well, its time to sell my 89 TR (its either the TR or my wife, which is a tough call). I need to know the best way to keep the "joy riders" away. Are there any pre-screening things I can do to make sure the people coming to see and drive the car, are actually serious buyers? Would it be better to advertise online or through the local Auto Trader? What about selling to a dealership? |
