JBuffa (Joseph),
The front lights set look fantastic.
Are they original?
It looks like the M512 lights

I had 2 good offers, but I could not sell. There are too many unique features in this car. I've felt the power of Brembo and I can't go back.

Recently purchased a 1991 348ts, red/tan, with 16K miles. Serial number 90037. While I do live in Silicon Valley and work for an optics company, I don't have a digital camera, so no pictures to post.

I have Speciale No. 92 and am not crazy about the exposed plastic taillight slabs. Would rather have 4 round taillights like the 355. However, I love the cheese graters on the sides and think it looks more exotic than the 355 (but not as exotic as a TR).
And I like cheese too, but hate cleaning the grates on both the car and the kitchen slicer. Especially when the cheese gets hard and gummy...

It's great. When you go on a picnic you bring the wine, cheese and crackers and you already have the grater there. Works with the TR too.

sorry, there was a guy a few months ago who had some damage to his 348 and end up converting the side panels to look like a 355.

Tom,

No, this car is not a conversion project. The extra panels came with it when I bought the car (as well as the carbon fiber F-40 seats in which I replaced also). I am fortunate to have both panels. Ocassionally I change it just to fool my friends - telling them that I have 2 Ferraris - LOL.

Personally, I like the original panels. It just look "real" not a wannabe. And as for the tail lights, I like it because that's the most unique thing between the normal 348's...and of course there's only 115 of them around =)

Thanks all.

My detailer uses a high power yard-blower to dry the car.
Not a bad idea. I finally bought a compressor that Iw will try in the nooks like in the read between the bumper.

Martin, IMO the whole car is a pain to dry after washing. So many places for water to hide. I always end up taking off the front and rear grill just to wipe them down properly. Besides that I can't really complain about the looks, which for me is one of the most beautifuls Ferrari's around......AND I LOVE CHEESE!!!

A trick I use when cleaning mine, is to open the door an run your hand through the openings. It's still a bit of a pain, but it does help especially when you are waxxing it.

I like both. The cheesers are just a pain in the a*s to clean.

What I just can not get used to is the rear of the Special. These lights look strange. I think I would change that to the stock 348s or find a kit for a 355 look.

Hi David,
Here is my one:
1990,tb,rosso corsa/tan,084181,Bonn (Germany)

Today there was great weather in Germany so I took my 348 to the autobahn (A555 to Cologne: No Speed limit, long straight highway). Met a 911 RS. At 150 km/h he was accelerating a little bit better than me which was really annoying. When were were reaching 250km/h he began to accelerate much slower than I did so I could easily outrun him. 50 horsepowers less really seem to make quite a difference at that speed I guess...
