I registered. Used an old car (from the 60's) that's owned by a friend (who couldn't care less). They verified the chassis # in approx two days and I was registered. Just wanted to check out what info was available and how accessible it was. |

The whole purpose of offering this is to document what older cars are around, where they are and how original they are.Ferrari did this before in the 80's to try and build a database of whats left. They will verify any chassis number you give them when you register. It takes a day or 2 so if it's not your car and someone else registerd it they will know. You must provide pics to get it.You can not even register to use the site without being an owner. |

William, There is actually an on-line request form to be filled out now. They might not have had it when you requested your information. The form has required fields and photos must be uploaded in order to submit. Since I obviously didn't have any photos of the engine and chassis number of the car I was using (remember, I don't actually own a Ferrari, I farbed it), I sent them an e-mail with the chassis #, engine #, and engine type of the car I used to register. As you can see, I recieved the message I posted earlier. You were probably lucky and got in under the radar because it was early on in the developement of the site. Anyway, any REAL F-car owner could always just take the photos required and get the information he/she is seeking. |

When I tried it a few months ago they told me that it wasn't available yet for the 1975 Dino GT4. I like that You also get personal email with Ferrari in the email address. How cool is that?! |

Copies of the original factory build sheets are available for the virtually all - with just a few exceptions - the cars produced between 1947 and 1968. The complete database of records for all the Ferraris in these archives will be available by February 2002. To check the availability of the Build sheet for your car, just type in the chassis number in the form below, without leaving any spaces (eg. 2001GT), and click on Enter. "I cut and pasted this from their site today"

I was curious so I gave it a try. This is what they want in order to provide build sheet information: Chassis number Engine type Engine number Gearbox type Gearbox number Rear axle type (if applicable) Rear axle number (if applicable) Photo of car exterior Photo of engine number Photo of gearbox number Photo of chassis number (punch mark present on the car) Photo of rear axle number Wow! William, did you provide all of that?

If you register and your chassis number is accepted they are offering build sheets for cars produced up around 1972 or so. Sorry no 308's or newer. |

personally, i think the site is in need of a lot of development in order to be good. however, it's a start in the right direction. for the longest time, ferrari kept all of it's records sealed and they are now releasing them to the owners. this is great for determining original features on the older cars. they gave me a list of the features and options my dino had when it left the factory. |

It's free and is starting to build a little community of owners on the forum side of things. If you're an owner, it's just another tool to your Ferrari experience. I know they will be adding new things such as being able to schedule a factory visit without having to go to your local dealer. Would like to see more emphasis placed on the forum area. It's not FerrariChat and FerrariChat is not the Owners Site. If your an owner, sign up and use both. I know a couple of people that manage the site and they are FANTASTIC!!!! |
