Len I was there in August last year and went in to a large dealership in Rome called Samo Car. They have a new web site: www.samocar.it Maybe you could drop them an e-mail and they can help. Also, the taxi driver told me that a very popular weekly for classified ads is: www.porta-portese.it Since you speak Italian, you will be able to get more out of it than I could. Good luck |

I purchased a car cover and priced out a new started as well as an ecu. The prices were much lower than here in the States although I dont remember the exact prices. If, at the very least, you're able to make a good contact over there, you might be able to order the parts at a later date. Plus, you can always fly to Italy during another time just for the parts...considering how cheap it is to go over at this point. I think you can fly to Italy for under $400! Wish you the best of luck and let me know if I can be of further help. |

David, We usually go in July, but this year were going in August. Im afraid it might be too late. What kind of parts did you purchase? Im looking for a cat, vinyl trunk cover, spare wheel with tire, and a few other odds and ends; all for an 86 328. My Italian is pretty good, Ill just have to brush up on my technical vocabulary. |

Last October I purchased some items from the Ferrari Dealership in Torino. The guys there were really helpful and thought it was pretty neat that an American was up in there shop. The prices are really good compared to US prices. The only thing I didn't like was they didn't take any credit cards and only dealt with cash. Goodluck, especially since you'll be going in August....try to get there before August 15th after that you wont find anything open. Knowing some Italian would also be helpful! |

Im going to Italy this summer and want to buy some parts. Has anyone ever tried this? I was going to use the dealer/service booklet that came with my car as a starting point. I also have a friend who lives near Monza. The only thing Im worried about is the fact that Im going in August, which is when all of Italy also goes on vacation. |
