The release handles are the same ones used on 308/328 as well. That is the only one available. I would suggest periodically lubricating the cables/latches so you don't have to reef on the handle so hard. The plastic base is secured and when the handle is pulled hard the plastic base gets tweaked and cracks. HTH, Brian |

As I recall, the ones of my 1986 TR were made of metal. In fact, I believe they were chrome. |

are you talking about the chromed cavallino releases? i have had break but not had a problem with it since. |

I have succeeded in breaking both cheap plastic contraptions used to pop open the front and rear hoods on my TR. I replaced the rear one a couple of years ago, and it broke again. I gave up on replacing cheap fragile plastic with more of the same. It wasn't cheap when it came to paying for it. Does anyone have any suggestions on an alternative? I know I can pull those emergency pullcords and release both hoods...but anything else anyone has tried? Mine is an 86 TR. |
