sorry, I was in italy and picked up my wife's aunts phone to make a call and saw the pininfarina badge - not sure they make them for the US - was pretty much a normal phone anyway |

L. Wayne, >>>...I don't know, for some reason, when I think "audio" I don't think "Italian." On the other hand, when I think "kitchen"... <<< Well, my ex g-friend loved the Pininfarina kitchen. As for audio, i think more music... and the Italians have some glorious music and musical instruments. Enjoy The Drive, Steven R. Rochlin

I suppose these are subject to listening, but my audiophile sense prefers to hear the stereo, not see it. My ideal view is a center pedestal holding an LP-12 and two monolithic speakers on either side (of course I add speakers for a home theater). The primary focus of a decent listening system should be sound. But I'm pretty sure pininfarina doesn't put its name on any Best-Buy-bought stereo equipment, so I'm curious to how it sounds as well. Just make sure those curves and lines don't shake and impede the signal. |

Ron, As a member of the audiophile press, was invited to the Pininfarina facility in Italy when they launched those loudspeakers years ago. They are offered in various colours including, naturally, Ferrari red. Details of this launch can be found on my website at http://www.enjoythemusic.com/milan/speakers.htm . Have heard these loudspeakers and while they are good, i'd prefer the Maggies you own. Regardless, this is a personal preference and i ALSO convinced an Italian tube audio company to make a Ferrari red amplifier, tuner and matching CD player. This company is called Nimis and their products can be seen at http://www.enjoythemusic.com/magazine/equipment/0700/nimis.htm . i have the Ferrari red Nimis amplifier in my home :-) Have been a big supporter of many things Ferrari red and, in fact, just got off the phone with FNA concerning my factory tour in a few weeks. Will be at the Milan audio show in a few weeks as well, so there may be more Ferrari red audio products to procure :-) Enjoy Your Drive (and a nice cup of Italian espresso), Steven R. Rochlin

Those black monitors hooked to my tube amp would look pretty cool - retro meets contemporary! I'm a Magnepan junkie too, although the Center Channel is not their best effort. |

Must have stereo speakers for the Ferrari enthusiast. Go to [email protected] then look for the Aliante "pininfarina designed" speakers. I have not heard this type speaker but I am sure they are something else. Myself, I am a Magnepan junkie. Let me know if they sound as good as they look. Ron |
