Gene, make February Jap car month - only 28 days of it. Take out a weekend to celebrate Enzo's birthday and it gets cut down to 25 days. The fewer days for them the better.

Dave - "fix it again Tony." Hilarious! LOL

I once ate at the FIAT restaurant,
but they could never get the orders right...
The waiter kept yelling back to the kitchen,
Fix it again Tony..... :-)

I will have to claim credit as a restaurant visionary, because on 7/31/02, I invented the Enzoburger franchise right here on this board.

I have been to sooooooooooooo many race themed restaurants. By every race track there is a famous bar/restaurant for the race fans.......everything from Seneca Lodge by the Glen (look for the racerchicks.com stickers there) to the FAMOUSE Cantina by Laguna Seca (they have a sticker there too) The latter has such great racing memorabilia I drool when I go there. Whether if you want a high end place or a Cheers style pub - just make it comfortable to us that love telling and listening to good racing tales.

PS - I will be your best waitress!

doug, yes it does sound like a great idea, as long as you are in a sufficiently affluent market. another example of a great car oriented resto is stars and bars in monaco. they have racecars and motorcycles hanging from the ceiling, drivers nomex suits all over the place, themed seating areas etc. food is american burgers etc. think this formula works well and your food costs are not that high given the simple menu....and beers flow well.

Doug,

Is there a link for Quaker Steak and Lube? Sounds like a fun place.

I agree with Doug, best to make it a restaurant for racers & aficionados of all cars. 1 make restaurant will probably flop

If you get specific to a type of car it will probably fail. Open an automotive oriented place and designate certain days of the week for specific clubs. In Columbus Ohio there is a place called Quaker Steak and Lube. Built to look like a huee garage with classic cars on lifts, motorcycles hanging from the ceilings, and race items on the walls. The food is Burgers, sandwiches and wings with beer. Place is packed every night of the week I hear. I was there on a night with a Harley show(about 400 bikes). I was with a group of Porsche owners(about 15 of us in out 928's) and a nice little caravan of a Countach, Diablo and F40 came strolling in. Some locals told me this happens almost every day of the week.

Martin, I was thinking more a race theme restuarant, with pics of Ferraris, Porsches, Vettes, Vipers & drivers all over. Could have a different car honored every weekend :-)

Maybe some nice lycra "racing" suits uniforms for the waitresses :-)

There is a Ferrari's Restaurant in Sarasota, that is where Paul and the Sarasota Gang meets once a month.

William,
we have to talk business I guess. You have similar ideas than I do. My Pasta restaurant was supposed to be themed Ferrari but not to the extend that people feel they can not come in unless.... Hartmut's wife Filiz had a similar idea for the Ft. Lauderdale area.

I've never seen a road plugged up with Corvettes either. Just miles of smiles.

There was a restaurant called Ferraris in Dallas, TX. It was a very high end restaurant that had little to do with cars though. It did have some 166 & 250 (1950's) artwork if I remember correctly.

If a Gazillion Corvette owners won't sustain a restaurant then a handfull of Ferraris plugging up the roads definately won't.

The restaurant business is tough. They're gonna have to have some damn good food and gorgeous women for me to pull my Viper into a Corvette restaurant. And even though there's a gazillion Corvettes plugging up the roads, there still may not be enough to sustain the business.

I think it would be better to cater to performance cars in general rather than just The General. Sort of like Race Rock Cafe does.

Good luck to them.

People at the Corvette forum have been discussing a Corvette restaurant in San Diego, CA. Anybody know of some Ferrari restaurants ? Any in Miami ?
