Hubert , i know AMG engines are great , but ,i dont know how to explain this , they fail to attract me . I know the Zonda is a great car but it still leaves me cold like a 996 do . Competent machines but lacking the magic of a Ferrari.

andrew:

fyi- the mclaren F1 was originally slated for a F1 derived *gasp* honda powerplant to lay in its bay. so, an AMG engine in the zonda shouldn't deter you; great engine.

Yes - the engine in the Koenigsegg is a modified Ford SVT Cobra engine, isn't it?

Zonda's use Mercedes Engines too, so you should still want this car. But why not a Mercedes Engine: Blistering performance, low maintenance, huge longevity, whats not to like? Sure it may sound not as good but it will probably out last a 6 litre engine revving to 8000rpm. Besides the craftsmanship and attention to detail is astonishing.

I would never buy a Koenigsegg . A zonda maybe , but Mercedes engine doesnt excite me at all.
Would consider one after my 30th Ferrari..

The Koenigsegg website claims 0-62 at under 3.5 seconds with a top speed of 242mph. Road and track says that it outhandles an F50. Production is 9 per year at a cost of about $600,000. This car is insane!

the C12 S and 7.3 have the same performance .

210 mph
0-60 in 3.8s
1/4 in 12 sec
and 7mn40 sec around the nurburgring.

The koenigsegg hasnt been officially tested yet , its all speculation ( est about the 390 kmh top speed ! ).

Interesting. Is the performance comparable? I am not in the market, a few hundred thousand to much for me right now. But I always like to know. ;)

the C12 is no longer being produced . Only the C12S and the C12S 7.3 . Both with the AMG modified engine with around 550 hp. One with a 7.0 and the other with 7.3l from the very exclusive SL 73 AMG .

Try here for some more info

Where in the world did this come from? Need info on this car ASAP. Anyone know how this car handles and where I sign my life away?
