Lloyd, talk to Erik. he has made my pipes from the CATS. Then sent me the CATS and the pipes back. Used the Cats to copy lenght and bend. Erik did a nice job. See my post on Installed my 348 test pipes for e-mail address Will save you MUCH more than the $1000 you want to spend. Has O2 coupling but need no more Thermo

William, I am very happy with the car. I have owned a Viper and two NSXs and the TR gives me the power of the Viper with the confidence in the corners of the NSX. It also has all the intangibles which make the Ferrari experience such a pleasure. In one year of ownership and about 3,000 miles of driving in the Texas hillcountry, I have not had to repair anything. I changed all the fluids when I purchased the car and am about to have the major service done. I am sure that at some point in time I will need a clutch and I may need new brake pads at the major service. Therefore, any input from the group on suggested replacement parts for the clutch (or rebuilding of the clutch with kevlar, etc.) and brake pads for the car would be a great help. I have yet to track the car and while I may do so for the experience and to learn the car's habits near the limits, I don't anticipate tracking the car on a regular basis. At this point I would track the car primarily as a driver education experience. Therefore, any parts I replace will need to be compatible with primarily driving on public roads. Thanks, again. |

William, thanks for the input. I have followed with great interest your exploits with your 512TR. In fact, your prior posts and others weighed heavily in my decision to buy the TR. |

I put my 512TR on the dyno this summer, I removed the cats & installed a tubi & wrapped the intake to keep it cooler. Result was 390 hp at the rear wheels, same as a Viper so assuming a 15% drivetrain loss that nearly 460 hp at the flywheel or around 30 more hp than stock (428hp), around 7% improvement. I got my tubi for abour $3500, u might b able to find a used on on the Ferrari Market Letter |

I am due for my major service and am thinking about having Norwoods at the time of the service install test pipe replacing pre-cat and cat and connecting to my stock exhaust. I believe it may cost a total of $1,000 for stainless test pipes w/ inserts for O2 sensors. I would appreciate any thoughts on what I might expect in terms of any effects on performance and sound from this modification alone as after paying for the service I don't think I can spring for a tubi right now. |
