Any idea when they stopped allowing pictures on the tours ? Did the tour w/sister in Dec. 1987, took gobs of pics, saw an F40 prototype zoom by headed for the test track while we were hanging around the outside gate, too...nice tour.

Rick....here is the email I used in the past: [email protected]. It goes to Roberta Bicocchi. I basically asked if I could visit and she said it would be no problem. Shoot them an email and see what happens. I wasn't able to go because of a schedule change, but will go next time I'm in the area.

My written confirmation from Ferrari NA says to expect the tour to last exactly 1 hour 15 minutes. Sounds like they've got this down to a science. Hmm, I wonder if this time allotment includes my test drive of the ENZO.......

This all sounds great! We will be there on Oct 14, at 10:30AM with Maserati scheduled for 2:30PM the same day. I have written to request track time on this visit. The next day we are scheduled to do Lambo and then, Ducati! Caio

Dont forget to have a lunch at the restaurant just across the enterance, and if you have the time, spend some minutes going approx. 15 Km East-North-East of Modena to a small village named Santa Agata dBolognese. From Maranello it will take 45 min. There you will find Lamborgihi. Usually they let visitors in without having pre-booked a factory tour.
Ive been to Ferrari and "L" three times now :-)
Then, on the West-side of Modena, along the motorway going north, you will find Bugatti.
-Have fun !

The tour is about 45 mins to an hour long. It's short but definitely well worth it. You'll be amazed by how small the area actually is where they assemble the cars.....basically 2 production lines. The people are very nice and you also get a Ferrari Passport upon leaving which they will stamp for you as well. Keep you eye's wide open around the factory because you will see all kinds of Ferrari's including one's that don't exist yet! Have fun....I will try and go sometime in October.

Someone should take one of those wrist watch camera's in. Might get interesting. If you guys are going to be in the area for a day or 2 you should try and see Pagani, Lamborghini, the Maserati musuem, and I'm sure a million other places in the area. Good luck.

It's never too early to make reservations for lunch at Il Cavilino, BTW, they sell their Balsamic Vinigar, it makes a nice statement in your kitchen. Enjoy

I agree with William H: dress WELL. No logoed clothes, no jeans, no sneakers. A tie is not really relevant, but I'd wear a nice sport coat. They will DEFINITELY treat you better, and your tour will last MUCH longer.

Enjoy! It is a wonderful experience.

And while I remember; I saw a black Testarossa with US plates (Sunshine state) outside the factory when I was there. Anyone from this board?

Steven,
I went on a factory tour last week, and it was fantastic. More info here: http://www.pistonheads.net/gassing/topic.asp?t=16624&f=63&h=0

If you're going to write an article then I'd take along a dictaphone since there is a huge amount to absorb and I could easily have spent the best part of a day in there. You will see the Enzo assembly line and will get to crawl over the finished product at the factory. You cannot take your camera in, but bring it with you anyway as there's lots to photograph outside the factory. Fiorano is at the end of the main drag past the museum (on your left). The Carrozzeria (bodyshop) near the circuit had an Enzo in there and I managed to photograph that. They were also testing an Enzo on the circuit and I saw two on the main street (one red, one yellow).

Additionally you will eat lots!

Bottom line: dictaphone; camera always at the ready and don't eat for a couple of days beforehand.

Have fun!

Import in a case of good california cabernet. Carry a couple bottles with you, trade for a F-50 valve cover.

William and Tom,

Thanks for the tips. Keep them coming. Did check the archives and have been a member here (silent lurking mainly) for quite some time. As for wearing a suit... i do not own one. Only a tux for attending the yearly Grammy Awards.

Everything else is this special color red ;-)

Take some proof of your confirmation in case they dont have it on file. Dont wear "Ferrari" clothes, if u wear a nice suit they may mistake u for a VIP :-)
