I'm driving a Mercedes 2000 SL 500 Sport for my every day car. Need to have one convertible when you live in California Also have a 2000 Mercedes E 320 Wagon. Good for shelping the dog around and going to get plants on the weekend, yet it's great to take friends out to dinner. I reserve the 1995 F355 Berlinetta for the weekends. And they don't come soon enough. I just sold my restored 1960 Pontiac Bonniville convertible. Belive me, the cost of maintaining a Ferrari pales in comparison to restoring an old American classic. |

My commute is 75 miles one way. Multiply that times 5 or 6 days a week times 2 for the round trip. It does not take long to add up. Plus, I have a daughter who will make that 75 mile trip to San Jose, CA on Saturday night to go clubbing with her friends. That's how. Yes, it seems the Beatle has been moving since it left the delearship! Dan |

Hey Dan, how did you get 95,000 miles on a 1999 car. You just kept driving since you left the dealership? :-) |

I usually commute in a 1999 Volkswagon Beatle. It has 95,000 miles on it and runs like a top. In California small cars do well in city traffic. Our alternate commute vehicle is a 1988 Chevy Silverado 4x4. That's our foul weather mobile. Dan |

Living in Texas you are required to own the national car of Texas so I comply with my Suburban. That thing can haul anything and does a great job of pulling our boat. If I am lucky my wife will let me dive her BMW 540 (I agree with the previous post, this is a really fast car!) This last weekend I also bought an old Miata to turn into a spec race car. Fun to race, low cost and I wont cry if I dent it. |

I'm a category II , so I drive whatever's in inventory and has gas....I own a dealership so I can drive whatever I want! Just one of the perks! I'd drive the Ferrari more often, but I only live about 5 miles from work so it's hardly even warm by the time I get to the office - unless of course I take the scenic route. |

Well I'm with Steve on this one. Category I.... I drive the 77 308gtb every day unless it's raining, or bad weather. Then I switch off between a 91 BMW 325ix all wheeler, or my ol 89 Range Rover... I think I would go quite mad if I could only hear carbs and tubi on the weekend Dave |

I use both of my ferraris 89tr and 95 355 as daily drivers. For when it rains I take out the 500sl. Nothing gives me more pleasure than driving the f-cars, neighbors love it too. |

My daily driver is a '96 Porsche 911 C-4. When the snow gets too deep for the 911 I drive my 2001 Suburban. Sometimes my wife "allows" me to drive her 2000 BMW 540i (that is one fast car). I would love to drive my Dino every day, but with parts getting scarce it's a risk. |

I drive an 89' Volvo 740 GL and an 88' Lotus Esprit. The 308 I drive as often as I can. Usually once a week or so. |

I'm driving an Alfa Romeo GTV Twin Spark 2.0 -96. To quote Top Gear when testing the GTV 3.0 litre version "It's a mini-Ferrari". I agree. Ciao Peter |

Just posted a note in another topic. I drive for those rainy days a BMW 840Ci (1994) and when I need to haul stuff we also have a Jeep Grand Cherokee. My wife drives a Mercedes SLK, which is really too small for me (6'4''). Let me re-phrase that I drive a BMW 840Ci. I own one, I really do not drive much anymore. My mechanic drives the car more than I do. I pay for the car....not much longer though...anyone needs a BMW??? :-) |

I only had my TR for two weeks now, and although I thought I was going to drive it to work at least a day a week, I just cannot get around to doing that, yet. Hence, at least for now it will be a weekend, or time-off, car for me. I guess that makes me a Category II user (per Steve's). During the week, I mostly use my oldy by trusty 1984 Mercedes 300SD (240K mi). Now with the price of gas so high in California, I am glad I have the diesel (about $1.75 to $1.79/Gal as compared to the ($1.90 to $2.00/gal for regular unleaded). Sometimes, I will drive my Suburban, but lately its been making company to my TR while park on my garage since mileage for both averages about the same (10 to 12 mi/gal). Caribe. |

Peter -- I think you have to separate the respondents into two categories to get a clear understanding of the answers: Category I -- Daily driver (which is the Ferrari) + trouble car. Category II -- a more seldom used Ferrari + (other, usually nicer/funner) daily driver + trouble car. I'm definitely Category I -- I drive my F 250+ days per year and my trouble car is a '89 Honda Civic 3-dr. |
