Even with no fuel, the car should hit on starter fluid. Typically, that stuff even diesels, so no spark is required. |

Tim, open the rear bonnet and your timing info should be located on the left side of your engine bay. |

Check #1 and #3 fuses in fuse block 1 (left box) - #1 fuse controls 'relay excitation' and #3 controls fuel pump. Try jumping fuel pump relay (86/87 -> 30)as this will power up your fuel pump even if fuse or relay is blown. My 82 had same problem, bad #1 fuse. I also have the same shop manual as you ordered, it is for the Mondial with a hand written note on cover that it also applies to the 308. Kind of like how my Nissan manual also applies to my Saturn .... |

Do you mean it won't crank or fire? I assume that you mean the engine is turning over but not firing and staying lit. I would check to see if you have fuel coming from the injectors. I wouldn't go to the cam timing right now. Verify that you have fuel on all of the cylinders then move foward. Is your fuel pump turning on? HTHs. |

My workshop manual is on the way from Italian Car Parts but I would like to work on the car some more this weekend since Tropical Storm Hanna will have us indoors. Currently I have good compression and good spark in all cylinders but car will not crank, even with starter fluid. Am cleaning injectors. Does anyone have the cam timing data for this model they would be willing to share? Thanks, I searched the archives but don't think I looked right. BTW, the guys at GT Parts have been very helpful as posts on this board suggested. Thanks from a rookie! |
