i don't have a number for you sorry. maybe lung can help us out. they are both on orchard road in lucky plaza i think. run by nice older gents who know their stuff, i usually drop in on them when i am there.

frank, we may be able to do some biz if your local dealers are really selling new stainless daytonas at list....premium paid on this side of the pond. i might buy one myself. seriously though if you can put me in touch with one of these i will inquire.

Ross and Martin thanks! I am sufficiently sad enough to explore these options!
BTW - Ross - I've sent you an email about a Ferrari/Porsche meet we're having on Sunday.

Ross, where do you shop ? You can find both new and used Rolex Daytonas in stainless all over the Atlanta area for below MSRP !

Ghee if you have to pay a 300% premium for a Rollex, imagine what a 360 Spider should go for in a few years $500,000. Maybe all the dealers are on to something there?

Paying $270K for a 2001 6speed is insane! Only a sucker that did not do his/her homework would be that dumb! Which reminds me that Jennifer Lopez went into the Miami Ferrari Dealer and bought a car for her new love, paid cash! (while we are on the subject of dumb!)

manu, if u want a daytona for less and immediately, ask someone in singapore to get it for you. there are 2 specialty watch dealers on orchard st who deal in rolexes and they had a few last time i looked. and it will be a lot cheaper than what you quoted.

I've just made a few enquiries for a Steel Rolex Daytona ~ 3700 list but with a 7 year waiting list.....
Actual prices around 12,000 for a used one available TODAY- waiting lists are specualtion devices.

interesting that you liked the 6 speed better than the f1, and you currently drive the f1. first time i have heard that feeling expressed. but i am not that surprised.

now lets hear from ernesto.....

Three year wait might have something to do with it. I do believe the pricing on 360 models is starting to feel the slow economy.

It is my understanding that you can order a 360 Spider for MSRP at any FNA dealer. Why would you pay more somewhere else?

MSRP has nothing to do with how much they cost however. ;) I was just at Ferrari of Los Gatos (ignored I might add, of course, I was considering the F355 GTS they had there but that is another thread) and the asking prices of the F355 Spiders from a few years back are basicly MSRP for the new F360. Of course, they won't get that for them, but there you have it eh.

Isn't the MSRP for a 360 Spider around $170k or so ?

Agreed. The F40 would be my choice as well. For the record, I would have a 88 1/2TR, a F355 GTS and a 328 ;)

Mitchell: I agree with you also. I would NEVER tell someone how to spend their money!!!!!!

While the 360 is a great car, no doubt, I was only expressing MY opinion as to what I would do if I had $270K to spend on a car(s).

If I had to pick just one car at that price, then, I would go for the F-40.

Henry, Agreed. However, if the 360 is what makes you happy, who should the price matter? I was pointing out how much less he could buy the same car for.

I have an 88TR worth $45K and an 83 Boxer worth $75K. That still leaves me $150K for something else, vs $270K for a 360 Spyder. Maybe a PERFECT Daytona (Spyder conversion), or a Lusso. And, any of these three would be TRUE 12 cylinder Ferraris.

I just can't imagine the 360 Spyder being worth so much.....even the coupe.

Talk about throwing money away!!!!!!!!!!!!

USD? 270k is still far more than I would pay for that car. Maybe $240k

and somehow ended up test driving a 360 Spider! I Was there only to drop of my 355 to get porterfeild R-4S installed and walk to the showroom and saw a gorgeus rossa corsa/tan spider. The dealer just comes up to me and says" how do you like it? Lets go for a test drive" there was no way i could say no so i did. It was a 6-speed and had never driven a 6 speed ferrari because mine is a F1. I think the F1 is overrated, the 6-speed is much more fun and more driver involved. It felt so much bigger than my 355. the handeling was same IMHO and more wheelspin when you gas it. The only dissapointment was the exhaust. It did not have that "sound" around 6-7,000 RPM. Other than that no complaints. As the test drive concluded i could not think anything but WOW! The 360's have been improved so much that you could drive it allday without getting drivers fatigue. They dealer wanted 270,000 for it and it was a 2001. Unfortunently i dident trade beacause i was not intrested in buying a new ferrari right now. Sorry if some parts don't make sense, i am just so excited from driving the 360 and cant think about anything else.
Thanks
Amir
