Hmmm; in neither this thread nor the other one referenced here(http://server.ferrarichat.com/~ferrari/ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/21/105564.html) did i come across this angle - where I live(West Texas), we have decent driving weather, but lots of wind. Part of the reason I bought a 'B'(other than looks, handling, and the rest) was that in this part of the country you can't keep dirt/dust out of anything, and a convertible or targa is just gonna be a lot dirtier to deal with than a 'B'. On the other hand, I've spent a lot of time in the SFO/Bay Area, and if I lived out there, I'd take a hard look at an 'S'; jammed in traffic, great weather, NO wind, hmmm, might be something to the Targas after all... |

ok...thats it!!...its going to be the Berlinetta. No more worries on creeky roofs, leaky roofs, popping doors, body flex, wind noise and color coded roofs. What can I say...thanks for the feedback. |

Lung, don't forget that with the GTS there is always the danger of the doors popping open during hard cornering! :-) http://server.ferrarichat.com/~ferrari/ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/21/105564.html |

With the colour coded top a TS looks great. My 348 looks as nice as the B but has the advantage of open top motoring. However, there as some creaking sounds on fast corners, with the roof in place, and they all let in some water. In S'pore a TS might not be such a good idea as it does rain quite a bit. |

I own a F355 GTB, I am 5'11" 195 lbs. and can easily wear a helmet on the track. I got the GTB because A) wind in my 3 ft long hair doesn't do anything good for me, B) I wanted a trackable car and the GTB is stronger. |

i had the ts and i didn't like it. it leaked, rattled, scratched my paintwork when i was clumsy. i think the b looks more agressive as well. then again, i live in central london, so top-off motoring is sporadic and the rain is plentiful. if you dod decide to get the ts, at least get the color coded top so that is doesn't jar the the overall look too much. |

To me there is nothing like driving with the top out. I could count on one hand how many times I have driven with the top in. As someone stated earlier the sound is SO much better with the top out. |

Peter/Greg... both your points are well taken. I forgot to mention that I live in Singapore. The temperature here is about 30 degrees C or 86 degrees F. It is also very humid. GTS owners... is the cabin roof line lower than the Berlinetta? It was about an inch lower with the 328GTS. 355 owners how tall are you guys? If you wore a helmet, does it touch the roof?

Depends on what the the car will be used for, driving och to be seen in? I have a GTB because I drive it and I drive it hard. If that's important for you, you don't have many options, just the Berlinetta. Ciao Peter |

I would go for the GTS if you don't race. Otherwise the Berlinetta. |

I have a 355GTS and drive with the roof off all the time except when caught in the rain. Having the roof off allows you to appreciate the glorious sound so much more than you could in a GTB. The heater is very efficient and even under cooler conditions with the roof off keeps the interior very comfortable. There is absolutely no buffeting in the car even at high speeds. It takes less than 1 minute to replace the roof when parking the car. I also think the GTS with the roof removed still shows off the lines of the car to full effect. There is no noticable body flex in the car compared with the GTB under the majority of driving conditions. |

I have a 308GTS and I think the GTB is better looking. What really matters is which will be worth more money 40 years from now. I probably won't be around to debate the issue then. |

I think the B's look better and they have less body flex. However, drives like yesterday with my wife out around the lake on a beautiful day I prefer an open top. A GTB is on my short list though, but I will always have the GTS.. |

The 2355 GTS has a different mounting system than the 348. For some reason they changed it, and no for the better. Art |

My 308 is pretty solid with the top on and does not rattle. I would not have a Ferrari that you could not remove the top. |

hmmmm....the vote is split! I had a 328GTS before and it use to rattle quite a bit at high speed. I just thot that over the years Ferrari would have improved on the Targa design. I guess not.

Go for the ts, it only rattles and shakes when the top is on. And you have the option of open-air motoring. |

Personally I like an open top...I have a 348ts and took that over a spider. Its the best of both worlds and I like the roof design better. I had a TR and could compare. Either one is a good choice.

I think the shakes and leaks apply to any ferrari spyder. I would get the berlinetta. |

I've got a Berlinetta. The GTS, I've been told leaks, and shakes. Apparently Ferrari didn't reinforce the chassis when they did the GTS, and it isn't as good as the Berlinetta. Art

6 weeks ago I posted a thread about choosing a 456 or 355 when I sell my Testa. Well, part one is done...car sold (or at least its at the paperwork stage). I have decided on the 355 over the 456... partly due to the feedback from this forum. Now I have to choose between a Berlinetta or the GTS. I don't like the Spyder. Which one do you guys recommend? Is there wind noise on the GTS? Can you feel the body flex between the two? |
