"A 360 more of a Ferrari than a 575??????????? Ferraris have 12 cylinders." So? The F40 wasn't Ferrari? I think the 360 is just as evocative as the 550/575M if not more. JMHO. |

Tom, Mitch's resume is absolutely on the money- they are very different beasts. I ended up buying a 456 and a 360, so by my actions, I also endorse others who've said get both! The 456 & 550 are similar in many respects IMO. Comparing the two cars: The 456 is a nicer place to be- the quality is in a different league to the 360. I can get out of the 456 feeling either relaxed or exhilerated, depending on how I've just driven it. I have not yet got out of the 360 without the adrenaline running, even when I didn't want it to. BMW don't know what they're talking about; the 360 is as close as I've ever been to the ultimate DRIVING machine. People often ask which one I'd keep if I could only have one. The answer is the 456 because it does everything well, and in style. I would miss the driving hit from the 360 though. The only other point to add is get whichever colour does it for YOU. Both my cars are red and totally do it for me. Like I give a flying thing what anyone else thinks and I don't think you need to either. It's your car after all. Kevin |

Tom - I have not heard of a dealer with a 575M "in stock". I've only seen one or two on the secondary market at this point. The waiting lists aren't as bad as you might think though..... Doody. |

Tom, I know of a 575M in argento nurburgring with black interior with 265 miles. Feel free to e-mail me at [email protected] if you are truly interested. Will also locate a red one if you desire. Best of luck! |

Has anyone seen or know of any dealers that have any 575m's in stock? and in red?. I dont know why some of you don't like it in red but I think it looks great in red and to me it would be my first ferrari and has got to be red. I know there are 360's all over the place so they are fairly easy to find but if anyone knows of any 575's in stock somewhere please let me know. Thanks for the thoughts Tom |

howie, admittedely my price judgement is skewed by the fact that i live in london, and i have already seen 550's of that era offered at $100k; so i figured that even w/ the usa premium that it shouldn't b that much higher. so i don't necessarily know the answer to your question, but am pretty sure that if you looked around, maybe even among this website's users, you could find somebody who had been trying to sell a 97 550 for a while at $130-135k and would entertain your bid at $120. if not today, then within 6 months.

I think Mitch's list says it all. I couldn't agree more. It all depends on your "application" and what moves you most. |

Tom, I recently faced the same dilemma, albeit a nice one. I went for a 10.2001 silver 550 which I believe better suits my driving environment: to/from work, city+highway driving, playing hooligan on the Swiss alpine roads, high speed runs on the German autobahn (haven't been in the 550 though...yet) and the occasional track day. I felt that a Tubi exhaust was a must and, if you opt for a 575, get the Fiorano handling pack. Good luck, Brian. |

my vote (aka the cheap bastard), is to go for the cheaper (hard to believe) 97-99 550 (in some color other than red or yellow pls). i am sure that you can get one of those in good shape for around $120k, vs whatever currently inflated price even the '99 360's are going for. |

I would get the 360 Spider with F1 shifter. It seems more... Ferrari... |

Would also suggest a drive in both before you toss a coin. The 360 is the more focused of the two and sounds better, IMO. The 550 is an amazing all-arounder with loads of torque. Choose your purpose and pick your poison. Can't go wrong with either, IMO. |

The 360's no slouch for long distance drives. It's quite comfortable even after 3 to 4 hours in the car. It's a GT as well as a fling-able sportscar. |

I was waiting for that - I actually don't prefer either car in red. The 360 in silver is nice and the 550/575 in black, blue or silver is nice |

Have you driven both? Having enjoyed both cars (but not the 575), I would concur with Mitch's assessment. For me, the 360 is more exciting to drive, the 550 is more rewarding to drive, if that makes sense. If you have any interest in taking the car out on a road racing course, I would lean heavily toward the 360. The 360 is fabulous on the street and magical on the track. The 550 is no slouch on the track, but is a GT and not nearly as well suited for the track as the 360. best of luck.

If you are going to ruin the beautiful lines of a 575 with the color red, I suggest you get the 360 then. |

Hey guys thanks for your opinions. Im new here but have been reading the boards for awhile now. Everyone has brought up some great points. 575 seem hard to find right now and I really only want red. 360's it seems I can find almost anywhere and yes seem to be cheaper although im not to worried about that. I really like that list Mitch made up (thanks)but it seems the only reason I can think of to choose the 360 over the 550/575 has got to be that slightly more exotic styling. Other than that i find the 550/575 gorgeous as well but do appreciate that exotic look. This will be my first ferrari and its kinda tough deciding but fun as well. Any more opinions out there? thanks.....Tom |

IMHO the 575 wins hands down. As far as performance/handling is concerned, from what I have read the 575 is faster around Fioarno than the 360 ! So, all the 360 only has over the 575 is the mid-engined more exotic look. |

What do you want to do with the car: A) high performance driving? 360 B) long distance driving? 575 C) Cruising for burgers? either D) Cruising for girls? 360 E) Cruising for women? 575 What do you prefer: A) revs over torque: 360 B) purity of tone: 575 C) low-midrange guts: 575 D) high-end HP hit: 360 A) light and nimble: 360 B) big and bold: 575 A) flashy and unavoidable: 360 in Yellow B) subtle: 575 in Black Why is it that the fixed width font doesn't preserve the spaces I used to line up the answers? |

I had the same dilemma. Went with the 360 and I'm thrilled. 360 (spider) a lot more $$ now though. |

They are both completely different cars, the 360 is more athletic, fun to throw in the turns, the 550 is an all-around cruiser. What do you want the car to do? Any preference in styling? Is the price a factor? |
