Given the obvious differences because of tires, speedometer error, engine health etc. I was wondering what kind of speeds people are seeing in their TRs in specific gears. I get at 6750 rpms (redline) 1st gear -- 53 mph, 2nd -- 78 mph, 3rd (98 - 100), 4th - 125 mph, 5th - don't know yet but at 5000 rpms I saw around 145 mph.
The 98 to 100 in 3rd is temp dependent. Engine at 180 degrees I get 98. When really warm and having been on the highway for about 30 - 40 miles (temp 210) it gets a couple more mph at the same rpm. The other speeds are probably a couple mph higher also but never had a chance to read those too closely. |
