Yeah... what's that expression, "We all put our pants on one leg at a time"? Guess the real difference is where and when you are putting them on...

Just checked finance.yahoo.com, back in November of last year Jon owned around 7 mil. shares of MS. I don't know how much he sold before then, but that alone is worth about half a billion. Not bad for a days work... and to think last weekend he was tail gating me in his 250 GTO.

Jon seemed like a nice guy, I didn't talk to him in person. But I was in his vicinity several times. He got one of the top awards for his 290 MM which has been driven by about every famous sports car driver in history. He was very grateful and down to earth. I should of bought MS stock, I should of bought MS stock, I remember back in 1989 I was working at a brokerage firm after high school and dropped the MS name several times when people asked for personal advice, but I never bought it myself.

Incidentally, all three cars in your photos (the TR, GTO & California) are in Jon Shirley's collection near Seattle. Jon is former President of Microsoft (retired) and an incredibly nice guy. About once a year he opens his collection to FCA-NW members for hands-on tours. The highlight last year was when he started up his 1997, ex-Schumacher F1 Ferrari and ripped it up to about 15000 RPM --- truly a nifty thing to experience from 3 feet away!

Dooooh!!! I just realized, that Pete has his trucks painted to match his shop front... So, I guess I'm looking at his truck in the Dallas area???

...nevermind...

Rob -- "in this area"? To where are you referring? Looks like your photos were taken outside Pete Lovely's shop in Puyallup, WA. There are certainly many great Ferraris in WA and OR -- the Shirley and Whitten collections alone are staggering. And, while I agree good events in the Northwest are rare, there's certainly more activity than here (Denver / Boulder, CO area) where I recently moved.

The Rose Cup (part of the Rose Festival) is coming up soon in Portland, and I would highly recommend attending that event to any car nut who can get there -- tremendous turn out of rare, classics (many makes and some very serious Ferraris always show up).

...And you'll get to see (hear) most of the cars on the track!!!

I was already thinking about the First Annual FerrariChat.com Online Car Show. Every entrant gets a dedicated page and I'll write some Java so you can vote. I like what they did at the MAFFIA event here in Dallas. You got 10 votes and could put them all towards one car or spread them out. Look for it later this year.

The Ferrarichat.com Annual Meet... J

There just aren't any great Ferrari club type events in this area. Plus we had to draw cars from both West coast and East coast, which is a long haul either way. I'm really disappointed there aren't more events for Ferraris in this area. Hmm, I guess I'll have to do something about that.

I'm gonna scan my pics & post them soon, My faves were the Pontoon Testarossa & the little 206DinoSP over at the Ferrari of Dallas trailer

I was a bit disapointed that so few cars turned out, less than 100 which is poor for an annual meet. Was it the Dallas heat ? The Recession? Where were all u guys ?

I agree. The first thing people say when they meet both of us is... "Jennie, what were you thinking?".

Even more suprising because we met 7 years ago in Kansas, I was in College, she was starting her Senior year in High School and I was driving a 1989 Toyota Tercel and making $5.35 an hour.
