The 360's F1 system is more adaptive to driver conditioning than the F355's. In other words, if you drive the 360 harder, it adapts itself to a rougher (sporting) shifting style. There are also numerous parameters (much more than the F355) that can be set by your dealer to control how soft or hard and fast or slow the car shifts. I've driven 2 F355 F1's on the track and several on the street totalling probably 200 miles. I've driven 360's for a total of probably close to 1000 miles (800 street, 200 track). For street use, they're both fine. For track use, the 360 blows away the F355, period. Even after you personally adapt to the timing of the F355's shifts, it can't compete with the 360's gearbox. My only problem is the 360 makes a totally bad-ass engine noise at WOT in the cabin with the windows down! (Almost as good as a euro carb 308 or 512). I can't help but stick to redline every gear. That's bad for my driving record!! But, in the F355's defense, I think the F355 F1 gearboxes have longer life spans between major services than the 360.

I have never driven a paddle shift. Always a regular stick. Can somebody explain to me how a paddle shift works. Sorry for my ignorance. |

never driven a 355ps-have a 2000 360 f1 -it shifts very smoothly-the trick in my opinion is to get out of first quickly and keep the rpms up -after that -its easy going-i have driven in a 99355 with ps but its hard to tell if you are not driving- |

Yesterday test drove a 355 F1 Spider. Adapted instantly to the paddle shift. Seemed natural and was a blast to drive. Also drove a 360 F1 Coupe. From a standing stop, it did not seem as smooth as the 355. At speeds, virtually the same as the 355 paddle shift. I think I could easily adapt to the 360 paddle shift, but the 355 paddle shift seemed better from a standing stop. Was told that the difference was the way the fuel was controlled. Do others have similar experiences? Tomorrow get to test drive a 348 spider vs 355 spider vs Lambo that they think I should look at. Trying to decide which I like.
