Sam, I think the oil and cleaner are safe; its the prepping agent they sell that I would be cautious about. Check with Krysti: 904-276-8441 |

if your seats have been dyed, is this stuff safe or does it pull the color from the seats |

In answer to the question of removal of the seats. That doesn't seem necessary. I have been treating my seats similarly, wearing latex exam gloves (it seems to mildly irritate my skin, massaging the stuff in well, then covering with garbage bags. I leave the stuff on for several days to a week, reapplying every day or two (just a little bit from a sprayer bottle, then massage in again). Then clean up with the Prestine Clean. Do this twice a year and the leather stays nice, soft and pliable. |

Nick, If your seats are dry, then I would definitely recommend Leatherique. The drier the leather, the easier it will crack. |

My seats are fifteen years old, but in very good shape. Ill need to re-dye a small panel on the drivers seat. I suppose you can do it in place, but I think its a lot easier to reach tight spots if you remove the seat. (That doesnt sound right, does it?) Whale sperm? Talk about tangents! |

I've done my car too and am very satisfied with the results. I just bought some of the dye to try in a few places too. George from Leatherique is very helpful... |

I agree with Lens 100%, the Leatherique works great. I soaked my seats with the products by hand and it only used about half inch of the bottle. I think the 20 z. bottles will last me years. How can you turn down a product that uses Whale sperm? |

How old were your seats? I have a 97 spider and here in AZ the leather dries out quickly. Do you think this is how I should proceed? My seats are nice but dry. |

I am so amazed by the results of these products that I had to let everyone know. After researching many different leather care products, I decided to go with Leatherique. I started with the passenger seat: 1. Vacuum thoroughly, especially in and around the stitching 2. Hand-apply (I use surgical gloves) a liberal amount of Rejuvenator Oil, massaging the liquid into every wrinkle, fold, seam, etc. One seat takes about thirty minutes. 3. Wrap the entire seat in a large plastic trash bag and seal with a twist tie. Store in a warm, humid place (my attic) for twenty-four hours. 4. After a day, the leather is ready for the Pristine Clean. Youll notice that the leather is shiny, and somewhat tacky. These are the impurities (dirt, sweat, etc.) that are forced to the surface as the oil penetrates the hide. I microwave the cleaner for about ten to fifteen seconds, and apply with a sponge. Have a clean 100% cotton cloth ready. As you scrub with the sponge youll see the white foam of the cleaner turn dingy, thats the time to wipe it clean with the cloth. I used a medium bristle toothbrush for stubborn areas. 5. Buff with a clean, dry, 100% cotton cloth. Let dry for about an hour. REPEAT STEPS 1-5 TWO MORE TIMES! I finished last night and cant believe how good the leather looks. I had a few ink stains/fingerprints, and they were lifted out with minimal effort. The hide is noticably softer, has more lustre, and smells great. Regular maintenance calls for just one application of the oil/cleaner two times per year. I started on the center console and passenger door panel last night. |
