i would say the lower end of your price spectrum is filled with high mileage (nothing wrong w/ that if maintained properly) and/or abused cars, which you will want to stear clear of. the higher end is as always the dealers reaching for that person who has more money than sense.
my guess as to where the prices are headed going forward is that they might lose another notch and go into the $75-100k range, but then it stops there, and eventually starts rising.
it took me a while to find my 512tr as well. i found there were very few present owners, who took the proper maintenance attitude, that actually wanted to sell. still today, i am always scouring the ads and very rarely see a 512tr offered. it doesn't help your case that there have been a number of articles recently (especially in the british motor press) about what a great car it is and cheap for the speed and heritage etc etc.

I bought mine almost 3 years ago from SHelton for $110. It is simply the most awesome car ever :-)
u need to have a mechanic look the car over carefully & have all the maintenance records & Tools in your hands before u buy, if a dealer wants to promise free delivery or anything else, get it all in writing.
That said higher miles cars, drivers cars tend to sell a bit lower than garage queens with no miles. If u are not afraid of a car with miles u can probably get 1 near $90k. No need to b afraid of miles as long as proper maintenance has been done & u have the maintenance records to prove it. Mine has 38,000 miles on it now & she runs stronger than when she had 19,000
Good Luck

I have seen a very wide range of prices on 512TRs lately and can't quite put my finger on what a legitimate/market price should be. I get the impression from reading other threads that there is a big disconnect between what sellers believe them to be worth and what a buyer believes them to be worth. FML only seems to reinforce what I see in Hemmings, paper, etc., i.e. $105K to $120K. However, every so often I see them in the upper $80s. With a rather limited number of them changing hands it has been difficult for me to locate any good "comps". I was curious if anyone here had any firsthand knowledge of recent sales or would like to weigh in with their opinion.
