There is nothing like the feeling of being at a gas station where everyone is "oohing" and "aahing" over your Ferrari and then having it not start. I think we had a thread about this at one time.

I had this happen in the 365 once-- I had to get a jump start, but it finally started (combination of a weak battery and a hot day).

I've only had the Mondial for about 6 months. The 365 2+2 I've had for nine years, and it has never stranded me.

Of course, to be fair, I've owned two different Porsche 911s over about 12 years (a 79 and my current 85), and they each stranded me once.

Hey, I got caught push starting my 348 when the starter solenoid went out, talk about embarrasing....reminded me when I had my X19 Fiat back in the days and then now telling myself, "Damn not again"...

I would not consider this a Ferrari only experience. After 9 years of ownership, and this been the first incident of this nature, I would consider that a great record; regardless of the kind of car you drive. After you sum it all together, it seems that you have had a great Ferrari experience so far.

Well, now I'm an "experienced" Ferrari owner. For the first time in 9 years of Ferrari ownership, I got stranded by the side of the highway.

The not-so-trusty Mondial blew a coolant hose, sending geysers of steam out the back. It looked bad enough that a passing motorist called the fire department! Thankfully, I persuaded them not to douse my engine compartment with foam.

Needless to say, this did not impress the wife when she came to pick up our son (although he thought it was cool-- his only disappointment was that he didn't get to ride in the tow truck).
