Look up "Freezone RB 276" I've used it and it seems to work just fine.

I don't recommend retrofitting the A/C. I know too many people who have had troubles with their A/C following the retrofit. In addition, some A/C's wont blow as cold since they were designed for R-12, which is a better coolant material.

Although the R-12 is more expensive than gold, get it fixed and use the R-12.

I don't know tim's location or numbers etc.
I have the car in Fort laudrdale and my A.C. needs a refit to the new freon and to fix it's general melaise. Although I hardly use it, it has been rather hot lately and would like to have the option. I know it won't be GM quality cold but a run on the highway with the top off works for too.
I will try murry in a couple of weeks when I have time. Right now I am on the road in San Fran for some business.

Mitch,
it comes down to who is closer. Yes Murry charges $70/h for regular customers, but gives them a break when they are repeat customers like myself. You have to establish a relationship. Murry has done a lot of work for me and has done it right.

Tim Stanford is also well known in the industry and has an excellent reputation as well. I have not done business with him direct because he is too far up for me but have heard several good things about him and his work.

The other option is Servicio in Jupiter. Dave Castellano is a very nice guy and has done some great work on Ferraris and has racing experience working for european Alfa teams.

Robert...Not sure what type of A.C. work you are needing done to your 308QV, but I recently had mine serviced at European Sport Car Service near Orlando. They changed the belt and retrofitted the A.C. to the newer freon, etc. while doing the major service. Other than them, the dealer or Tim Stanford are the only others that I'm remotely aware of.

Martin
If he's working for you at $55 he is cheaper than everyone else, but if he's charging $70 for all of the rest of us as you said, he's no cheaper than Tim Stanford!! Tim has done all the work on my car and has been reasonable, prompt and to the best of my experience generally great.

South Florida is another State than Central Florida. Even though I am Florida resident, I work in S.C. so I am not much help there.
