I agree with you guys on the front end... This looks much better IMHO... http://www.barchetta.cc/All.Ferraris/images/0644/360-modena-s-32.jpg A Modena Modificata would simply rule. But what of the popular Spyder? Replace it? |

yeah the headlights on the 360 really annoy me the rear scoop just doesnt flow well in the profile. Too 250LM, should use 330 P4 as a basis next time |

The 456 came out in 1992 not 1995 ..So its a very old car but still an amazing one . My guesses are that in 2004 Ferrari will launch a Modena Modificata ( maybe a F420M ?) with around 110 hp/l ( 462 hp ) . Hopefully with bigger brakes and better press reviews than the 575's.. But will it be enough to fight against the Baby Lambo ( V10 and 500hp ? ) which is said to be almost as fast as the Murcielago to 150 mph .. The 575 MM should be replaced in 2004 by something totally new , and it would be great if they treated us with a 575 Barchetta as a goodbye for the 550/575... |

I agree that almost anything would make the 360 front end look better IMHO. I would start with a can of gas and a match. |

I beg to differ: Ferrari could make the F360 look better if they made it look more like the F355. In particular, the nose of the |

I'd love to see a mid mounted V10. A high RPM one at that. So you can really play Schumi... |

Making the 360 more attractive will be a very difficult task. |

When I did the factory tour in March they told us that the 4.2 V8 in the Maserati spyder was actually the engine Ferrari will use in the 360 replacement with some intake & exhaust changes for better performance. Lets hope Pininfarina makes it more attractive this time |

355 Spyder Production was from 95 to 99. The 355B started in 95 as well. Jason |

Dave, I actually had a discussion about this with the local Ferrari sales manager yesterday. First off, he said people have been calling offering to sell their 360 spyders, but he's not buying right now. According to him, they are all for sale and should be about MSRP in a year or less. He is expecting a 360 replacement in the 2004 model year. I think it will continue the 360 theme as that is Ferrari's pattern. He thinks it will be a substantial revision, especially technology wise, because that is what people expect of Ferrari. He expects a bigger revision than the the 550 to 575 upgrade. He did say this is all speculation on his part, but he has been messing with Ferraris for decades, so his opinion gets my respect. He did say that in a factory trip earlier this year he snooped for evidence of the upcoming model, but found none. In the past, he has seen prototypes years in advance. He figures the new car must already be under development, but is under very tight wraps. Dave |

My Ferrari crystal ball is probably more cloudy than most. Of course there might be other factors, but does the following make sense. I have been told that Ferrari in 1995 announced that each model would last 5 years. The 456 came out in 1995 and needs updating. The 550/575 came out in 1997 with a different engine than the 456. It would make it easier for Ferrari if all their 12s had the same engine. Also making cars in both steel and aluminum has to slow down the factory. It would speed up things if all their cars were aluminum. Alco being in the Ferrari Factory would help out in the design and transition. A lighter car would also make it faster. The 360 came out in 1999. However, the 360 Spider did not come out until April, 2001. Some dealers have a 5 year backlog of orders for the 360 Spider. Yet there is a ready supply of 360 Spiders at $50,000 above list. The 360 Spider does not really have any competition at the moment. Lambo will have a competitor for the 360 in about 2004. Other factors might come into play, but it would seem that Ferrari might spend their resources on updating the 12s. Then come out with a 360 M in 2004 or 2005 to compete with the Lambo and to finish the backlogs. Then, the replacement for the 360 at about 2006 or 2007 this would also be around the 5 year point. Does this make sense?
