Sounds like a Mexican standoff. Hardly anybody has 20K in cash to buy a new toy these days, but yet things aren't so bad that folks selling their cars are willing to let it go for what it will actually bring, which is far less than they are asking. People aren't hungry enough...yet. |

You will have trouble getting 20k for it right now.On the plus side the 348's are very low and falling. It no longer has anything to do with the Fcar or it's condition. It is all economics. There are very few people with 20k in cash ready to plop it down on a toy right now. From very recent experience.Do wonder what Ed got.And hope I'm wrong. |

Having just sold my near perfect 308, I agree with Martins last post. E-mail me for a price info on my 308. |

Your car is worth less than $30K giving it is a i not a QV and the various problems it has. Be aware that there is a difference between the early 348s and the later 348s. The 89 wasa 2.5 Motronic ignition which was upgraded with serial 86XXX (I believe) to the 2.7. There were some other changes as well. I would recommend to go for a 1990 or later model with the upgrades. Then I still have a 1989 348 Challenge with an all upgraded system for everything. Runs like fire. I test drove the car.

Collin: Your car is probably worth somewhere in the very los $20K range. Problem is a mint condition 2V can be had for mid $25-$28K. |

I am considering trading up my '82 308 GTSi for an early 348ts. First question, what is my 82 worth? Here's the specs on my 308: > 29,000 miles (yes they are correct - I just changed out the original tires and have possession of them) > Red with black leather. Paint is very good. No dings or dents. > 1 quarter sized rust bubble under the right side turn signal light. > Slight paint discoloration on rear deck lid > Seats aren't ripped or torn, but probably only about a "7" out of 10. > New TRX tires (less than 500 miles) > New timing belts in January 2001. > A/C doesn't work. Has something to do with a leaky seal. Opinions on realistic value?? Now, for the 348, I have to stick with an early one to make it work financially, and I want one with removable top and red. Miles are OK. Again, what will I pay realistically? Thanks so much |
