Bruno, could you please back up your statement of carb USA 308's making 255hp? I have only seen that related to Euro cars. As I stated before, the prevailing literature (at the time) stated USA cars making 205 hp for 1978-1979 cars. I had one, and spent mucho dinero getting mine to produce 214 hp on the dyno. That was after adding K&N air filter, removing cats and airpump, adding electronic ignition, NGK EVX platinum plugs, new wires, plug extenders, full major service, and ample dyno time and jetting changes. I know we have sparred on this subject before, but I think the period literature is correct here. If you have verified dyno charts to disprove me, please post. |

308QVs are around 40K if you go through a dealer, they are in the 30K-34K range if you buy from a private seller. |

The Honda Odyssey minivan will likely outrun a 308 0-60mph, but not top end. |

A carbed 308 is rated for a max. hp of 255.most publications put it at 240. The factory was always funny with this stuff. But they claim a carbed US car with emmission gear intact can be tuned to 255 without removing anything. It may not pass emmissions but it should tune up to that number. Dont worry about the minivan comparison.Ferari had little interest in 0-60 quarter mile times back then.Look at the top end and handling. And yes there are several opinions on the stock cars quarter mile and 0-60 time. |

I have both a Honda minivan and a 308QV - trust me, there is a significant difference. |

Perhaps the web can yield a cheaper source, but the book "Original Ferrari V8" by Keith Bluemel contains a great deal of technical specifications - including performance, engine type, VIN code, Factory service literature numbers, production numbers, etc. This book also details the entire interior and exterior of Fcars from the '74 308 GT4 to the F40. Price was $36 and well worth it in my opinion. |
