From the look of the engine and it's compartment and furthermore the sound of the motor, the car easily fits in the supercar category and you can't really say it has no charisma or charm till you see it perform in real life. This car looks like an awesome contender against all exotics in its class, compare it's figure... May look to you as a stranger or a new kid on the block or even a minority of exotics but lets wait and see what happens....

Well its not because of reliabilty issues but an Audi engine doesnt sound supercar ..No charm , no charisma , no passion ...

This day in age these are what new cars are becoming to look like, examples like Z8, Murcielago, 360, Maserati, no matter what auto manufacturer this is what it's going to be like. You can either be stuck with old style or modern body style, it will be hard to adjust with modern body styling but I think some of the cars will grow on to us one way or another. This Spyker car looks pretty serious as an exotic contender for all makes, I would like to find one to test drive...

IMO it looks like a Maserati that's been customized by George Barris.

While it is a little odd, I kind of like it. I don't know why the Audi engine would keep you away, Andrew. Audi makes very reliable engines and have been particpating (very successfully) in motorsport for many years. They have won at Le Mans for the third year in a row now and are likely to take a fouth victory next year. Their engines power cars like the Lamborghini Murcielago. What's not to like about Audi powerplants right now?

I agree that the Spyker is a little awkward in appearance, but somehow that gives it some of its charm. I personally like the C8 Laviolette (see below).

Watch that movie about the car.
What's not to love?

Almost 420 hp.
torque; 480 nm.
a top speed of 300 km/h...

And the engine sounds nice too.

Ok , also im dutch and it doesnt happen everyday a pure-holland-bred sportscar is manufactured.
I just gotta support spyker. Besides that, I still think the car is very fine indeed.

Ahhh...that's the name of that car. I saw it race at Sebring last spring (the C8 Double12 model). It ran rather slow compared to the other cars in it's class. It didn't last long either -- I think it seriously wiped out in one of the turns and had to be hauled off on the wrecker, if I remember correctly. Looked kind of cool though in the stainless finish. Perhaps Nika can chime in here and fill in the details.

This month's Worth Magazine states that cars have already been sold to US customers and will be delivered starting late spring 2003.

Anyone seen or driven this car? it's on the cover of the latest Dupont Registry. From the cover it looks sleek but the side, not to sure....
