Yeah Rob, those guys were just straight line "Dragsters" It takes talent to shorten braking zones & scream through corners Ive wasted a few F40s & diced with some 355 Challenge cars with my Big Heavy 512TR |

Comparing different cars and their times, without having a constant such as the same driver is all the cars.....is useless. Times will differ due to so many variables, most of which is driver ability. To get a better idea of the potential of each type of car, and their performance limits in relation to eachother, there is pretty much no other way but to have the same driver testing them under the same conditions. Rob, this is no knock on you, but regardless of who is driving the 328, on the same track, a 288 GTO and a F40 should never be caught or even remotly challenged by a 328. I think the fact that you were able to reel in those cars should be a major source of embarassment for the drivers of those cars. |

No problem Bob, for all you non-SpeedVisioners it gives you a little idea of how the race went. I'm sorry I didn't have more updates, but without any Ferraris and close racing like Daytona, it just didn't hold my interest. For more details of the race, http://www.speedvision.com has all the info. |

I would say those are all decent drivers, so it gives you a rough idea of the cars performance. Not scientific, but I think close. From what I've heard the 360 Challenge has done laps all over the world at or faster than the super Ferraris like the F40 and F50. It's one fast race car. I could see it driving my 328, the 288 GTO and F40 would pull away in the straights, but I could get right back on them by the time we braked, went through the turns, and then exited for the next straight. Only for them to stomp me down the straight again. |

Rob, Ferrari 360 Challenge 1:22 Ferrari 355 Challegne 1:27 Ferrari 288 GTO 1:30 Do you think those figures are significant for the cars or do the driver imput make them irrelevant? Ciao Peter |

Actually, I am the chief driving instructor of the Ferrari Club of America, Empire State Region, which is putting on that event. We are going to have a great turnout. Should be somewhere in the neighborhood of 90 cars there. I will have my hands very full (but not too full to go out and run some hot laps). What happened that caused your tranny to fail? Your name sounds familiar to me. Did you used to have a mechanic Joe Gallucci working on your car? This would have been around 6 years ago. |

Hey Matt, u gonna b at LRP Aug 3-5 ? I'm gonna have slicks & race pads on the 512TR so that should drop me about 3 seconds instantly. But I have to get a wing on my car or slow down at the top of the hill to keep from braking my transmission again |
