Martin, all 360 have the two stage valve. The louder 99 cars do not have pre-cats; 2000 and later cars all have precats. Installing an aftemarket exhaust cancels the 2 stage valve. Alternatively, you can physically disconnect the vacuum hose and cancel the 2 stage valve with the stock exhaust.

Ernest is correct. And I believe my stock exhaust on my 360 Euro is louder than the later models because it only has a one stage valve exhaust.

Willis I believe it is because the Tubi eliminates the two-stage valve on the factory's exhaust, which open at certain RPM's. The Tubi is open all the time, thereby producing a more linear curve when compared to the sudden opening of the valve with the factory setup. That's the only explanation I can come up with.

Kevin, in what way is the power delivery smoother with a Tubi?

Know what you mean Nick. Manu fitted one to my Modena and it's just fantastic, especially the howl @ high revs. This is pretty close to an F1 sound; when I visited the factory I watched the F1 cars @ Fiorano and as I was walking back, heard a 360 with a Tubi (quite distinctive) blast it up the main street. Very similar indeed, and a pretty well controlled comparison I thought.

Difficult to know if it's faster and I couldn't care less- it certainly SOUNDS faster :-) Power delivery seems smoother now.

The K&N will give you 5% by itself.

I cannot speak to hp increase however, I do know that the Tubi exhaust for the 360 is substantial lighter than the OEM exhaust. Since the exhaust hangs at the very back of the car it certainly will help with performance.

Regarding price, the 360 Tubi list around $3600-3700 but discounts are given off that price. Installation varies between $200-400.

Our local FCA chapter has done some dyno runs on cars with and without tubis (none with the same car, just same year with/without, so not too scientific). The Tubi doesn't add much hp, maybe 3 to 5% when used with a K&N air filter. But the sound is great. Of course each model and car can be different, so YMMV.

I am looking to add a tubi on my 355 spider, I found a used one for sale, is there anything that can wear out on these or should I not worry. It is about 1500.00. Also, I have heard some say that it adds a power increase and some say it is purely sound, any opinions?

What difference in sound! The exhaust is deeper, throatier and richer in sound. At idle and low rpm's it has that wonderful growl and rumble (like a power boat) and as you increase RPM's it begins to have that high shrieking sound much like the formula one cars. All in all, a terrific enhancement.

I want to thank Tino at Mensi one of our board sponsors for his help with the Tubi exhaust. He has great prices and a great guy to deal with.
