BMW is going to have a tough time staying independent. Ferrari would just weigh them down. Bernie may do things first class, but he also steals every penny he can get his hands on. He's already been quoted in the press as saying that any new buyer will take a hard look at the F1 budget. Beware of Bernie. |

bernie's gonna buy it, and that should not be too bad given his way of 'first classing' everything he does. although i think prices will rise.... |

You know what, this is just hopeful thought, but it would be great IMO if BMW motor group bought it instead of GM, Ford, Di-Crys, etc. Why, I love BMW second only to Ferrari; if they did merge; Ferrari would fill the sports exotic "gap" in the BMW's line of cars-they stop after the 128k BMW 750iL Protection; the Z8 is stopping production. They they have nothing until the RR series of autos. It would be nice as then Ferrari's could maintain independance under the BMW wing...without gwcoming a GM brand or a more affordable car like jags under ford. It would be nice for BMW as then they could merge the Formual one with ferrari; making Ferrari even better as they would have all of BMWs vast resourse at their disposal... wht do you guys think? The last thing I want is the germanized lambo effect on ferrari... but if any comapny was to own it, I want BMW (finaicial independance is even better but a complete dream ) |

From Yahoo! this evening. Coincidence? Or not?? INDIANAPOLIS (Reuters) - Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone will miss Sunday's U.S. Grand Prix at Indianapolis due to business commitments, organisers have said. "I had planned on being in Indianapolis but urgent business matters now make that impossible," Ecclestone said in a message to Indianapolis Motor Speedway president Tony George.
