Nick Cage apparently backed his F40 into a wall a while back. The car was sold at auction earlier this year, I believe.

saw the red 355 spyder angelina jolie drove in "gone in 60 seconds" for sale in dupont reg a couple months ago. Came with dvd and signed script! now that is worth a premium! Wonder if the car was one of Nick Cage's since he is a f-car fan and also starred in the film?

A local car dealer owns (or owned) the 308 that Christy Brinkley drove in National lampoons Vacation.

I thought the TR from Miami Vice was in the "Swap Shop" in Fort Lauderdal. I saw it there a few years ago, it was in real rough shape.

Not too long ago the guy that lived next to me formerly owned the car that was formerly owned by the artist who was formerly known as Prince or whatever. But it was a 90 Lotus Esprit. Never took me for a ride so I returned the favor when I got my F-car.

We have a guy here in Miami beach that owns over 12 Lambo Diablo and some 3 or 4 Muciellagos. All different color. He has only 7 or 8 Diablos here in Miami, the others are still in NYC.
He also bought the highest sale Condo in Sunnny Isles Beach. Cash I may add, no financing.

saw a white 84/85 tr for sale last week that claims to be the one used for the first 2 episodes of Miami Vice where the tr was used. asking $89K for it! They were pushing the celeb aspect of it very hard.

Miles Davis' white tr has been on ebay and some other sites for a month or so. can't sell it for $55K for some reason.

Dr. Phil's son was selling his 355gts here in dallas on ebay last month. I bet that car has been run hard which leads me to a question.

What do you think the care was for the vehicles owned by celebs? They have the $$ to take care of them, but probably don't "care" about the cars, but they also don't have the time to drive them much either. Wonder if an older owner would be better than a younger owner...say goldie hawn vs leonardo dicaprio?

frankly i think he, and probably a number of other celebs, buy multiple numbers of cars because they can use them and sell them on at breakeven or more than they paid, just because their name is on the tag. i also think dealers encourage this since the cars come back to them with a famous name attached and they can up the price even more, and on fcars it gets them around the msrp issue. call me cynical but i also don't think cage has 6 diablos coz he wants a different color for every day of the week..... and look at all the ex-cage cars talked about even in this thread.....

hey - it's his money to spend as he pleases. if he wants to spend it on diablos then so be it. it doesn't affect me in any way. i guess if you were a diablo searcher it might be annoying, but otherwise who cares.

they're just cars. it's just money. there are way more important things in life to stress about.

doody.

why would someone own 6 diablo's? 6 of the same car even if they were different colors is just out right boring. now if it were a mixed bag of lambo's miura, countach, etc.

is Nick a "self-indulgent weiner?"

My aunt's boyfriend has a daughter who is married to this guy who knows the boss of the mechanic who once changed the oil on Father Guido Sarducci's 308.

Did the fact that a "celebrity" owned the car before you make it better?

Speaking of old Nick Cage...from what I understand he is a Diablo collector..I went to a fund raising function and got to check out a yellow Diablo he was taking delivery of later that week. The salesman said he owned the largest personal collection of Diablo's out there and had purchase 6 from him alone. Fact or fiction who knows the delevery papers did have his name on them though.

Frank Stallone is famous? :-) Sure he put out an album and is on Howard Stern but famous?

Speaking of celebrity owned cars...When I was looking for my car I was on vacation in Florida. I stopped by the "Toy Store" (I didn't know their reputation at the time) and they tried selling me a "Sly Stallone" Rosso Rubino Mondial. When I didn't bite they pointed me over to a "Nick Cage" owned Ferrari. Yeah right! Needless to say, I bought a car back home with no celebrity connection. Very hard to prove unless you have a bill of sale and warrenty info.

Bruce,

I'm not famous enough for ya? ;) The former owner of my TR doesn't have much national exposure but around here he is a principal in a MAJOR building contractor think Four Seasons and other hotels/structures of the like. If you aren't industry (and I'm not) his name wouldn't stand out but the buildings he's been involved with are locally renown (or at least known!).

We sold several Magnum P.I. 308s' here in Salt Lake City, they all came with letters of authenticity from the studio. We also have in stock a 355 owned by Nicolas Cage, his name is in the warranty book, as well as the '92 Mondial Valeo owned by Rachel Hunter. I do not think this adds any value to these cars, just something fun to know.

Here's one that claims to be another MS F car. It's a little to pimped out for my tastes. (I hate gold kits on F cars!)

There were several 308's used through the years in Magnum PI. Algar sold at least one of them a year or two ago.

The Magnum PI car I think is in the Philadelphia area. I was at a brunch and show that Algar set up, last October. I remember the sales manager Rick pointing out a 308 to somebody and saying that car was one of the cars used on Magnum PI. And I think he said it was bought back from the studio by FNA and refurbised and sold.
I not sure if this information is correct

The '89 328gts i owned for a short while (white, with red interior, it was screamin' at least in appearance) was first owned (forever, until i bought it a few years ago) by Frank Beard, the only one in ZZ Top without a _________. Car had about 3,000 miles on it when i got it, sometime around 1999.Did not lose a dime when i got rid of it, but i don't think that had anything to do with its provenance. (The very idea of the word "provenance" and ZZ Top makes me laugh).

That's Roberto Benigni Jimpo1 - very cool!

Sheehan has Miles Davis's 275GTB for sale:
http://www.ferraris-online.com/cars/10669/10669a.html

I'm a huge 275 fan and a huge Miles fan. If I could get over the irrationality of the price tag (just the pure size of the number; nice 275s aren't cheap) I think I'd be the perfect owner for it for the next 30-40 years (g-d willing). For better or for worse though, I can't get over it :-)
