Najib, sorry for the misunderstanding, I agree with you that it isn't necessairy that Formula 1 get's boring when 1 team is lord and master.
As long as it doesn't get like this season it's fine with me.
As for me, I'm watching F1 since I was able to understand what F1 was, and I'll continue to do so until I die.

And thanks for that press release, couldn't help to send it around the company :-) (it sure turned my face into a smiling one)

After working 6 months on a aerodynamics packet, it's should be great, as Adrian Newry (+ crew offcourse) is a master in aerodynamics.
Then the only thing McLaren needs is a reliable engine to compete at the top. But it still would be hard to knock ferrari off the throne.

Bart, I think you misunderstood me. There was a year when Maclaren won all but one race and completely dominated F1. Albeit this was shared between both drivers and not as one sided as Ferrari's domination has been.

Firstly, no one complained and secondly they did not play cat and mouse with the other teams so few people, if any, were openly offended. However, Ferrari's current attitude has even made some fans and certainly borderline ones turn away in embarassment.

I would love to see them continue winning but with more style.

On a lighter note, at least now the British Press will not pick on Ferrari for winning:

Subject: Ferrari Press Release

Modena, Italy:

The Ferrari F1 Team fired their entire Pit- Crew Yesterday. The announcement was followed by Ferrari's Decision to take advantage of the
Labour Government's "Work For the Dole" Scheme and hire unemployed youths from Liverpool.

The decision to hire them was brought on by a recent documentary on how unemployed youths in Liverpool were able to remove a set of car wheels in less than 6 seconds without proper equipment, whereas Ferrari's existing crew can only do it in 8 seconds.

This was thought to be an excellent yet bold move by Ferrari Management, as most races are won & lost in the pits, Ferrari would have an advantage
over every team.

However Ferrari expectations were easily exceeded, during the Crews first practice session; not only were "da boyz from Bootle" able to change the tyres in under 6 seconds but within 12 seconds they had resprayed, rebadged, and had sold the vehicle over to the McLaren Team for
four dozen Stella's and a gram of Charlie.

You heard right, McLaren is starting next year with the 2002 model and will introduce the radically new aerodesign car at Imola (Race 3). It is called the Adrian Newry special as he has been working on it for 6 months. They are just starting the engine and tire design for the chassis - it may well give Ferrari a run in 2003. Remember Newry designed 4 straight WC cars.

I don't really agree with you Najib, because when Ferrari gets even more magnanimous then the only place the other teams will fight for is 3rd and that aint good for Formula 1.

The "less" interested people are gonna stop watching, and then finally it just dies down, That's how I see it.

Btw. I heared that McLaren is gonna start the next season with their 2002 car, anyone else heared about this ??
I hope they don't because then they're real far behind Ferrari

To be fair to Michael, he has given Rubens 3 wins this year including Indy, so Rubens cannot complain anymore - just my own observation.

He proved in the 1-2 finishes after Austria that he was able to put in the faster laps by some 2 secs but held back 'cause he felt guilty about Austria.

However, I did feel that Ferrari have proved they are by far the best car and team in Formula 1 and dont need to rub the other teams' noses in it. No one likes when the winner gloats - lets hope they can be more magnanimous in victory in the coming race and in future years.

I was in Indy on the weekend and lucky enough to get a race debrief by Peter Windsor. Here is his take on the outcome> Michael wanted to set up a close 1-2 finish so on the last turn he slowed down, Rubins thought Michael was letting him pass so he took him on the straightaway with Michael being some what caught off guard unable to catch him. The pit wall guys (Todt and Braun) were astonished. So Michael, figured to make the best of it allowed everyone to believe that he was just being magnanomous and a real team player. Apparently though Michael is not a real happy camper but is smart enough that he has now repaid RB and has set himself up nicely for 2003. Rubins feels he has been repaid for Austria and since the score is now even will help Michael again in 2003. As far as Japan goes Michael will probably be so motivated that he will obliterate the field including his teammate.

All in all a great weekend for Ferrari despite the somewhat strange finish. The combination of Michael, Rubins, Todt, Byrne, Braun and Bridgestone is just too much for the rest of the grid to handle.

Yeh that's right, but it doesn't mather, just another 1-2 for Ferrari.
I hope that the race in Japan will be a bit more exciting then this one.

And then let's hope that Jos Verstappen starts in the new season :-) (it's what we Dutch are still hoping for)

Iam not sure if that was intended either.
look at the replay. it looks like Rubens hit the accellerator right before the line.

Either way good for him. He is such a great driver and deserves the win.

Nice photo Tom

I agree it was tough for him to let him win and think he backed off a little and let the chips fall where they did. Obviously could have went either way. That said he normally goes inside to the pit wall and he did not do that so Rebuens was given the chance and he took it. It was some pic of them coming down the straight

That was good sportsmanship by Michael, Rubens deserved that win. Did anyone hear the crowd booing them after the trophy ceremony? I wonder if Ferrari will fuss over Rubens win? The world champion has already been determined.

I don't think that it really was Micheals idea to let Rubens win.
Because when your just a bit of a racer yourself you'd no that you want to win everything, no mather what. He just wanted the closest finish ever, which they achieved. Don't think that it were team orders aswell to let Rubens win because he's already vice-WC.

To bad McLaren & Williams couldn't be a bit more competitive, because it sure wasn't a exciting race.
Hopefully next year they will be, as long as ferrari will be victorious after the last race.

What a finish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. What a picture the two Ferraris neck and neck coming across the line of bricks - must have been great to be there. Sorry I missed it. Kudos to Michael for giving it to Rubens - barely. Anyway where are all the folks saying they would not want to be in Rubens shoes - ha the guy traded a win in Austria for a Win at Indy - not bad! The team is at the pinnicle. hopefully they stay there
